I got this GRD from our gracious host last year. Neato P-car tach look, and with a 5-minute resolution / no date display, it's perfect for a retired guy like me.

I am very hard on my watches. I went through several, then ended up with a stainless-steel TAG about 15 years ago. Other than breaking the bracelet pins regularly, it appears to be indestructible.

Discovered AVI8 brand, love their early hurricane models, this is the P51. Cheap and often on sale, so for around $200 or less you can have a little collection and rotate..
The typhoon one made after my favo ww2 aircraoft is my favorite but I think sold out.

My trusty Seiko 7290 diver needs repair. It was last serviced and relumed 20 years ago, so I guess its about time. Anyone know a guy who works on these and isn't charging insane prices?

I stopped wearing a watch regularly about 12 years ago. When my dog Maddie was a puppy she got my everyday watch off of the bedside stand and chewed the leather band. I just never replaced it.

I'm going to my niece's wedding in a couple of weeks and I plan to wear my Cartier. Haven't had it on in 5 years or so.

Not terribly exciting, but this is my one. It's one of those self winding ones.

Swap out the band. My Merc band got stinky after a while from sweaty, outdoor use.

When I first enlisted in the late 80's the PX had Rolex Submariner for a whopping $800. Considering my base pay was about $670 per month it was out of my budget that was mainly spent on beer. Wishing now that I had saved up...

I have never been a jewelry guy. It sort of bugs me having something on my wrist, guess that is just me.

I had the opposite experience with my TAG. Would not keep time, took it back a few times, then gave it to my younger brother.

Dad's pocketwatch ended up with my older brother. It is an old train conductor's watch, so it is fairly huge. With what gold is going for, I shudder to think what that is worth. The money clip appraised at $8000 a few years ago, and gold is up since then.

Basic $50 Tixex no frills, large numbers, calendar. Not interested in jewelry or damaging an expensive watch.

How about a Sinn 104? I've always like this green shade.

For driving and motorcycling I usually wear my Sinn U1. Its a diving watch and its easy to read.

You can't go wrong with Sinn. They remain the best bang for the buck in the watch enthusiast world. I'm going to Frankfurt soon and may not be able to resist the temptation to buy another.

I have posted on several watch threads here so won’t digress. I wore a watch most of my life, never removed it even in bed. Nothing worth more than $200 ever. Since the mobile phones became common place I have no need for a watch. I am that odd ball guy who hates standing out in a group and spending money on what I now classify as jewelry. Sorry you all carry on, I love the look of a nice watch but hate the feel of them on my wrist. I now sport a couple simple cheap colorful bracelets from my dive trips. Keep posting the pictures, some of your watches are amazing!

So, I see targa911s' post about pocket watches.

I have met Dave few times and he is, and MJ, as cool as a Perpermint Pattie:

I have five pocket watches that have been in a sock in my desk drawer for 20 years. We chat.

I sent him the watches and the sock

He get two running immediately:

They are his and I could not be more delighted.
