My sympathies Baz. She seemed like a wonderful person. God bless you and your family. And I firmly believe you will see your Mom again one day.

Baz,
I'm so sorry for your loss and my thoughts and prayers are with you. I lost my mom back in February 2023. I hope you can feel her presence and know that she's still with you. I'd like to offer a suggestion for a song from Ed Sheeran, Supermarket Flowers. Warning! It brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it but they're good tears. If you get a chance, read the lyrics, listen to the song... She is home..

God bless.
Nick

Very sorry for your loss but also rejoice in her 101 year life of good health, from what it sounds like. It's always hard saying good bye but that's a major win in the game of life. Not to mention some amazing genes she gave you! Be good to yourself in this difficult time. When I lost my parents, the grieving process wasn't anything like I'd imagined it would be...strange experience.

I concur.

It has always been, to me, the eyes: Eyes are the window and she lit it up.

I also want to add just how happy your posts concerning you Mom and Dad were...as Speeder wrote, she had a remarkable run, one to be celebrated, appreciated as well, on her passing, as mourned...loss is hard but the journey was awesome.

My family all knew the train was on the track, the end was coming for both months in advance. The key to me is that, while they died a quarter of a century apart, they were both sentient to the final breadth and we all had time to say to them each how we felt...changes everything.

Baz, your world has changed, but you haven't. Bless you, Mrs. Bazmom.

Hello friends......

I want to thank everyone for their kind words. Truly, from the bottom of my heart - thank you!

We had the funeral yesterday, better represented as a celebration of life for a remarkable woman.

Everything went well, and with my brothers and their families in attendance, even better.

Mom would have been very proud....as she always put family first.

Call, hug, raise a glass, or light a candle for your Mom today.

At your direction I called my mother today. Shouldn’t need to be told. But it gets me very depressed. Called at 2:30pm and she was asleep as usual, drugged up on pain meds. Been going down hill since multiple falls with very severe injuries and has been in bed for 3 years since and out of control Type I diabetes and possible multiple myeloma. Scary times for me but threads like this are a reminder, not that I need one but - know your influence worked and I will be calling her more often

Sorry to hear about your Mom's illness, RF. But please do continue to stay with her as much as possible. You are not alone and I can't tell you how many visits I had with mine when she wasn't all together in the reality of things.

We do the best we can. And keep on keepin' the faith. That's the important thing, my brother....

Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

Again, sorry for your loss Baz.

Man RF! that gives perspective. I had to watch my mom struggle for about three months. I feel for ya brother. Ya only get one... let her know often that you love her because once she's gone you'll wish you had told her more often.

Know that they will die. Or you will first. Whatever.

Just being there makes all the difference in the world.
Your presence is absolute. Forget the BS and pain and memories built up before.
Just be there. Quiet. Bring flowers. Hold her hand.

Because there are no 'do-overs':
Say it now: Say what you feel. Even if uncomfortable. And be able to listen.
Do your job: Make sure your parent who protected you from birth is set and has basics.

It will all change soon enough. Don't ever regret your choices now.

Sorry for your loss Baz, Nick...John70...

So after coming home..
This Jan. from a rough UTI event at 94..
Mom said no more..

respecting those wishes is heart wrenching.
then there is that rally..
and you find yourself questioning all..
and you want time..

I played German folk music..
reminisced photo albums...
she had every card and letter I've ever written...
from crayons to email..
picked out a dress..
and sat at her side...

Sis and I gave her a bath..
dressed and made it right..
combed her hair..
a dash of her favorite parfum..
and made the call...

Id give a lot of my tomorrows for just one day..
hell an hour really..
miss her so much..
nothing is the same..
I hear it gets ...
so far it just sucks...

RF stay strong..
prayers for you and clan..

Rika
