Are you kidding me ? Brazil skier wins the gold in giant slalom , he was retired for 3 years but missed the sport so came back . Originally born and skied for Norway and eventually decided to ski for Brazil . I think that's the first medal ever for Brazil in winter Olympics . What a story .

Curling is interesting from an "action / reaction" perspective as well as the strategy. In my arrogance I don't see it as "athletic" but it's interesting. I can't watch an entire match.

Curling is such a civilized sport. A fingertip touching the stone for a split second is a flagrant foul - or isn’t, depending on how the rules are interpreted or clarified - other sports would laugh out loud.

 . A sport? .... that ain't one....I just watched wimmins giant slalom... all I could think of was "Brickhouse" ..... ...just letting it all hang out ... what athletes, and performances

Shiffrin ends up 11th in giant slalom . I don't get it , in world cup she dominates . In Olympics nada . Is it all nerves ? At least she made both runs without falling .
And two skiers tied for 2nd . So there was a gold and two silvers awarded with no bronze . Seems odd . Go USA

The ski jump is insane. My favorite. All the sports are fun to watch. I can't imagine the dedication and training that goes into making an athlete at that level.

The Woman’s Alpine events have been a real nail biter. Every one of them.
I think Shiffrin did poorly in the combined because she normally draws a low bib number (1-10) so gets a relatively fresh track to race on. In the combined, she was dead last and had to make the best of what was left of the course. I think we saw a repeat of that today, that course held up OK but was badly rutted. Somehow, Frederica Brignone, probably more accustomed to skiing a tracked out course, decimated the field on the last run. She also knows that pitch given the home country advantage. To be clear, in normal FIS events, the entrants with the top 10 points have a random draw for spots 1-10, everyone else’s start position is based on points.
