When it's your turn to take God's hand, there's no better way than being surrounded and cared for by your family. Godspeed Paul.

A sad day learning he has passed. Thank you Seahawk for being the kind of person we all want to be.

I was really hoping for a miraculous recovery. I am saddened by the news. Goodbye, Paul, and Rest in Peace.

This whole thing is shocking…so many plans in the works and stuff to do and just like that, gone.
Even in his final move, he taught us a lesson about appreciating the time you have and appreciating the people you know and love. What a superb human being that I was fortunate to get to know a little because of this place. RIP Paul

RIP. Seriously bummed, although not nearly as much as his family and pup, I'm sure.
Sheiße!

It's hard to believe that a man so kind and full of life can be struck down so quickly. If good deeds get you to heaven, Paul is dancing with the angels for sure.
I read the obit and noticed the "plant a tree" button. That's what I'm going to do. This afternoon I'm going to plant a "Paul" tree, and it will always be called "Paul." So I never forget him.

This is a very sad thing for all of us and Paul's family. The world is a richer place because of his accomplishments and kindnesses. We are all blessed to have had our experiences with him and his presence. Sad.

I never met Paul in person, and we only exchanged a few PMs over the years, although we both posted in threads many times, but I felt like I knew him better than those interactions would normally create. He felt like part peer part father figure, I think because he was a Navy guy like my dad and a good man.
He introduced us to Dottie and several other pets over the years. We all got to know Jack and Arden his son and daughter and Mr Curtis through Paul. His absence will certainly be felt. just a few of the photos that he's posted over the years Quote:

So it appears that Paul died a week ago. This is very sad but I'm also grateful that he did not suffer longer, it sounds from reading between the lines of the OP that it was a bad situation.
![]() It is particularly sad because he was so looking forward to retirement in SC and enjoying life around his family. He had a son and daughter that are both doing very well in the world and in the prime of young life, bringing him lots of joy. It breaks my heart. Maybe later when time allows, I will share some of my experiences with him. He was a great guy and a real "man's man," very fun to be around. We actually shared a lot in common, just not online politics. ![]() He will be missed by so many.

Life is what happens when you're making plans. Death is part of life... Paul was loved and is missed. I suppose that in the end, that's the most we can hope for.
