Please bear with me; this is all new to me.
Getting to respect someone over the years from an internet blog and then having them become someone in hospice care as the next thing you hear of. The reality of the situation, the realized harshness possible on the internet and my emotions are having fits with each other. Thank you Paul for your fiscal conservancy and balanced position of thoughts in these crazy times. You affected my thoughts and due to the effects of that I thank you. Godspeed.

During Covid, my wife, who will have nothing to with cars, PPOT, or anything in those regards, would hone in on Seahawk an give him high praise.

So I have been sadly delayed responding to this news. Like everyone else it was a shot from somewhere in the back and I am still processing, unsuccessfully as of this evening. I have never met Paul in person but exchanged some PMs. He gave my son, a budding USN officer some sincere advice that he has carried on in his USN career.
Paul is the best of this community, smart, empathetic, and experienced. My prayers to the entire family and please give him a kiss from all of us.

So many thoughts... just praying for comfort and peace for Paul and the family.
In all my time here, and all the comments, I only have one that I truly regret.

I had some time to go back and review some old posts by Seahawk and realized what a treasure this website will always be for his family. (The bolding is mine). For as long as this forum is up, they can go back and experience his unique wisdom and grace as captured here. And we can too.
He has a clear emotional intelligence hidden in a somewhat blunt style. He could be remarkably sensitive and humane, and was blessed with an ability to express himself when he wanted to. His posts about dogs and Angela came back to me: Quote:

I think we were in the presence of greatness, actually. And he would be the first to push back- hard- against that in his humble way, but the forum has spoken. This is a man shaped by service, responsibility, machines, weather, and countless interactions with his fellow man. All of which he learned from, and patiently shared with everyone he interacted with. We shall not look upon his like again. My sincere best wishes to him and his family in such difficult circumstances.

In a world full of noise, Seahawk has always been the needed signal.
I've always appreciated his words, and as noted above, many are timelessly brilliant. Sent from my CPH2451 using Tapatalk |

Captain Paul Morgan reminds me of the absolutely BEST manager I ever worked for in corporate america... he was also able to herd cats (peons like me) and deal with total BS (corporation/PARF/etc.) like few others ... just a natural leader. He was also an accomplished leader in the Army ... sent to the sandbox decades ago when called up for duty.
I disappointed him once ![]() I never wanted to do that again ... he was gifted. Captain Paul Morgan .... a leader second to none ... and human to the core. RESPECT! |

Wow... well done Ken. Thanks.
Best to Paul and Paul's family. He set the standard for a keyboard warrior. Hope to see him back in the Captain's chair. |
