This was not the news I was hoping for when I opened this thread today.
My sincere condolences to his family and friends. I am very sorry to hear of your loss.

RIP Paul Morgan. I'm beyond comprehension that this has come to pass.

rats rats rats rats..
A couple years ago Paul posted that he was cleaning up and had a box of 30-40 krag ammo and if anyone was interested. I have my father's rifle and I told him I would take them. He said ok and was planning on mailing them to me and I had to squash that idea because shipping ammo in the mail is frowned upon by the USPS. I told him I can pick it up on my next road trip to see my sister in Vermont. I live in Arizona btw.. He was fine with that and invited me to stay with him overnight and set the ammo aside. I was set up to visit him but my trip kept getting sabotaged by misfortune. One time it was a leaky CV boot on my Jetta. I got as far as Huntsville and I decided to turn around. VW service for travelers is a joke. The 2nd time was with my brother and we were taking his Ford Superduty. An injector failed an hour after we passed through El Paso and that deep sixed that trip. I'm planning a trip again in June but now I'll never see him. haze grey underway Paul |

Nooo! I am honored to have met him, share a meal, and to own one of his old rifles. He was so kind to me.

Some folks leave a mark ... Paul left a hole in our hearts and though he was human, he was a marksman ... dead nuts bulls-eye.
Bless you Arden... thank you for this thread. I hope your dad knew what he meant to a bunch of us. If Jack has "hairy palms" ... I'm to blame .... .... Paul would LOL.Paul made the world a better place .... RIP .... |

I am hurt to read of his passing. Paul just had this “larger than life” persona. I have belonged to many different forums over the years, and never experienced a member or mod of such great character.
Like the rest of you, I had been praying for him to recover. I will miss his presence here. R.I.P. Paul / Seahawk / Captain Morgan

There is an old joke that everyone on the internet is six foot four and handsome...the guy actually was 6'4" and handsome. Plus a lot of other fortunate characteristics, like charm and generosity, etc...
He will be missed by all on this forum but especially by those who really knew him and his family. He made a mark. He was also human, which is a compliment, he had his foibles like all of us. He had many perfect expressions and remarks and he really loved it when someone else said something he found clever or succinct. More so than others, IMO. His passing was very sudden, this is a gut punch.

Thanks for this and I am still shaking my head at this news. Michael Holloway just posted "Seahawk is down" on Facebook about 20 minutes ago and this is the first I had heard that he was even sickly. He and I had many long chats, especially when I was flying in the Middle East and Africa. Boy... am still blown away that he is gone. Fair winds and following seas Sir! RIP Seahawk my friend!
