There was a huge article in one of our trade magazine on that home around the same time we were doing ours. The interior was left painted (new paint, or course) because the owner decided to not strip off the painted board and batten walls. Too much money. A project like that can suck the deepest bank accounts dry real quick.

I never really liked the roofline on it.

I hand built a tube chassis raising the body, moving the seats rearward, stretched the body for more leg room, bought some real comfortable aftermarket seats, double roll caged the buggy and it turned out heavy at 2000 pounds. I went on a off road run in CA and the dust was horrible. When I made it back to WV, I still had dust on the top of the roll cage inside the buggy.

Best trip I have ever made in my life, and if I can afford it next year, I will do it again. We will run the northern route through MI, WI, MT, ID, OR, WA and then south on the PCH to Big Bear Lake next year.
