Crayfish were hiding out in the frame of the boat lift after pulling it out for the winter. This one was found 4 days later by the lift crawling through the grass. Put him in the lake and within a few seconds was scooting away towards deeper water. The frame self drains and was dry, so it surprised me staying alive that long out of the water. | ||

I came across this pic tonight and had forgotten about it. It is a pic, some time ago, looking up the mountain where I live, where a storm had hit in early fall up high, but missed the lower section where I took the shot. Looking at it tonight, it looks photoshopped, but it is 100% real. If I hadn't taken it myself, I wouldn't believe it!

Lake Minnewaska, NY. Columbus Day Awesome park for hiking; if you're ever in the neighborhood take the time to see this place.

| G'day! |
Really enjoying everyone's photos...thanks much and please keep up the fantastic work! Here's something that might interest any fellow gardeners. At my Mom's house this morning - photos of a Podocarpus hedge that I planted about 10 years ago. This last plant on the end is much more compact in growth habit and foliage. I'm not familiar with any compact varieties of Podocarpus (around here anyway) except for Pringles but that one has larger leaves so is not this. This is pretty cool. I intend to take tip cuttings from this plant and get some going for future topiary projects.

Place I used to live in San Francisco. Drove down to SLO for a day trip. On the trip back I slew Hwy 1. At this curve, I became one with the road and the night and the universe. Last edited by john70t; 11-07-2016 at 04:00 PM..
