Awesome to see Raptors bouncing back from the DDT days, I see Osprey, Bald Eagles, Owls and Hawks much more now than I did 20 years ago.

Need to get off my arse and get it in annual then spend the $$$ on a new sky-tec key starter getting rid of the old pull style and an updated 406 ELT.

Then I could commute to work in it again

I like the hanger! I got my fixed wing rating in a 1968 Cessna 150 back in 1990, no headsets, just shout into the microphone. They’re neat little planes.

Is that a T-6 canopy in the background?

Thanks! It’s been a fun project. Took me sitting on a county rental availability waiting list for 9 years but it gave me a place to store all my aviation schtuff... which I didn’t realize just how much I had packed away under the house. Oh yeah, P-Car items too including one of the 68 912’s.

No headsets, dang that is hard on the ears. I switched over to the Bose A-20’s and boy is it nice. I have a mic in the cab just in case but hope I never need it. Nobody could hear me via the background noise. I flew a lesson in a Citabria with the door off “just because” and that was loud. The 150 is a fun little plane, easy flyer and very affordable both in fuel and insurance. A good friend has a Longeze he is prepping me to fly while he is away. Now talk about a fun ride.

Yup, it is a T-6 canopy.

The other ones are cool (great Glen 6 hour shot), but this one is a gem as far as photography goes. Very cool:

Thanks Kevin. If you can't get people out of the way, make them part of the composition, right?

Track security was a bit lacks at F1 races in the 70s:

^^^Good times. 79 was the year that it snowed Thursday night before race weekend, and then was beautiful the rest of the time IIRC.

Spent many Octobers at the Glenn, camping with sons and friends. Cost a $1.00 to meander through the garage after running was done,up close and next to the teams.remember seeing them using WD-40 to clean the cars! Best of times.

The GP at the Glen was so cool back then. Basically, all access anywhere u wanted to go. Last race of the year so after the race, all teams would sell stuff for next to nothing - car parts, tires, crew jackets, etc. so they didn't have to haul it back to Europe.

1979 was also the year that Gilles Villeneuve was 9 seconds faster than anyone else in qualifying on Friday during heavy rain. I've never seen anything else like it in F1, even with Senna.
