Location: Placerville, CA.... You know, the only place on Highway 50 between Sacramento and Lake Tahoe the you find signal lights. Above the fog most of the time and I can see the stars of the Milky Way 8 out of 10 nights. Kinda cool.....

Yeah, I know the feeling. Our 16.5 is 40ish due to the glass glass material and the 14’ plastic boat is closer to the 55ish. The Costco cheapy J-hooks aren’t to bad bit it is just awkward due to the length. I haven’t attempted in a stout wind. I imagine that would be some good YouTube viewing..

Saw this little guy as we were driving through the neighborhood.
Not sure where mom was, but he was gone when we came back 2 hours later.

Tried to make a root-cutter for easy clean up. One tool does all thing.
Ground was too hard, angle not right, and it didn't work well even with longer teeth.

Dang.....that old Econoline is a beauty, Geary.....so cool.....love the little dinosaur as well! They are so photogenic, aren't they?
I didn't take the pic but wanted to share this is my oldest brother and his wife. They live in Portsmouth, Va. He owns a fabrication business in Suffolk and turns 71 in August. They teach ballroom dancing on the side. Just thought it was a nice pic.....

Had a nice paddle down the Econfina River yesterday, it was so nice, very cool water, could paddle up into some of the springs feeding the river. They are cool and very clear.

Nice turtle pic ! Island,
they are getting so relaxed with divers these days. Neat the way they seem to fly thru the water. That pic in the spring was taken with an IPhone camera only. The water is crystal clear. I went in with my mask and snorkel and it is some of the clearest water I've been in. Chilly too, took a bit to ease into the water cause of the temp contrast to the air temp.  The water in the main river is darkened with tannins from the trees. My brother in the back seat. The main stream flowed at a nice pace for relaxing and enjoying the scenery.  If I had an underwater camera with me I'd have tried to shoot the area where the clear spring water mixed into the main river water, looked interesting in the mixing zone.
