We have an agave that has produced a spike that is now blooming. Anyone know what kind of agave this is? Anyone know if we should expect our plant to die after it finishes blooming?

You may be able to get babies from the bloom. Some Agaves do that. They are small versions that can be potted up and grown out to adult size. Beautiful bloom, Kevin! https://www.gardenia.net/storage/app...ndi-regis).jpg |

50 yrs later... # 1563 off the production line. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1622306844.jpg |
Still the most recognizable and beautiful flying machine ever made in my humble opinion.
My Dad was one of the "Incredibles" that built the first 747 as the building around it was being built. We were in Wichita, he was working for them and he got asked to go out to the PNW... he jumped at the chance. Worked almost nonstop for about a year while Mom held down the fort, we had a couple Boarder's as I recall, mom kept them fed and their clothes clean. Dad came back, bought a brand spankin new '68 Pontiac Catalina Station wagon in very white- got a discount because it had hail damage in the hood and top. We loaded everything up we needed, hooked up a boat also packed with stuff, the dog, the parakeet and off we went ping ponging our way to Washington State. Dad could not pass up a good adventure, so we saw Custer's last stand... etc etc. I fell in love with mountains at first sight. My Grammer, Gramper, brother Scott, Sister Candy and aforementioned Pontiac Tankalina. It continued on another 15' to the left http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1622315064.jpg The boat we towed out, rescued from the dump and rebuilt by dad prior to the new job up north. I still remember the fiberglass fumes permeating the house http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1622315064.jpg |

I think your Gramper looks a lot like the actor Abe Vigoda ;) http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1622319185.jpg Random, from the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC ↓ http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1622319300.jpg |
