Nothing earth shattering from me (see what I did there). My son got home yesterday with his girlfriend. He and I spent the past few hours mending horse fences, headed back out soon. Not a bad day for August in Maryland.

He is an avid bow hunter and set up shop in the back yard. His deer target is leaning against the tree.

His groupings, starting close and getting out to 30 yards, were amazing.

For you sharp-eyed folks, mowing is the feature event tomorrow
Thanks Paul - happy hunting to your boy. And can he hunt on your river property/farm?

Absolutely.

Maryland has three deer “seasons”: bow, black powder and shotgun.

He was qualified in all three

Wow - those are stunning zoo pics Wade!

From a quick trip last weekend to the Eastern Sierra’s and the old mining town of Cerro Gordo:

Considering I didn’t have a lot of clearance in my Explorer, it still did pretty good.

Thanks CB!

43 degrees outside this morning, 66 downstairs, first natural gas fireplace fire up to warm my bones.
Happy September 1st!

Diablo, again last Saturday- showing my Great Niece and Nephew around

28-300 zoom lens covers a lot of ground... or water

A bit windy at Diablo dam, like normal

That last shot cracks me up, well framed posterior in the window.
Great shots. I love exploring old abandon relics!

Got in an overnight camping trip on Baker Lake with my Nephew and his 19 year old daughter... I used to babysit him, wow is it strange to be a Grand Uncle, that's a lot to live up to

10,781' Mount Baker is about the youngest volcano in the Cascade range, because of heightened activity and meltage Baker Lake was lowered and closed back in 1975, wide open now and pretty empty on the Thursday night before a holiday weekend

It's got a lot less snow than I've ever seen on it at this time of year

Daughter and Papa off swimming in the late afternoon, he's Navy, I was not at all worried about them being 100 yard off shore frolicking

Wild mountain Beaver do exist

Stellar stellar viewing, perfect clear skis and a late rising sliver of a moon

I completely missed that!

My wife took this picture a few days ago when she picked up Dottie, a mixed Heeler, GS and other assorted DNA.

They call it "Re-homing" now.

So, welcome, Rehomy:

An old Minolta camera I'm trying to sell on C-list.

A 10 second long exposure without the aid of a flash.

No lenses, I'm keeping the one it came with. Asking $50 for it. Near as I can tell it was lightly used, but very dirty when I got it. Meter works and battery compartment is clean as a whistle. I'd keep it but I have sentimental attachments to my other 101, even though it's more dinged up than this one is.
