One of my feral cats has made the warehouse her getaway home sometimes. She likes the peace and quiet and she follows me everywhere.

^ That last cat looks like a combination of my Ralphie Boy and Penelope, his sister.

That looks/sounds like A LOT of work.
It's interesting. I've known about and seen cicadas all my life. We had them in Florida, and Virginia, and when I lived in Japan, there were cicadas, and they all seemed about the same. I think they have always been ~1.25-1.5" long (body) and probably ~.5-.75" wide, and they all made the same loud buzzing noise. Last year we moved to a rural area west of Houston. I started hearing this weird noise, and eventually identified the noise as the noise of the "giant cicada" which is quite different from a regular cicada noise. Unfortunately, I've never seen a giant cicada. But, I've seen two tiny cicadas, and the second type was today, and was even smaller than the first. This is the first small cicada that I saw. It's a bit under 1" long (body) and ~1/3" wide. ![]() This is the one that I saw today. It's just under 0.5" long and ~0.25" wide. With the wings the whole thing is less than an inch long.

As always, Skip, great stuff.
Looks like your LandRover has the latest and greatest of safety gear. Everything far away from the passengers and well padded, lots of air bags, etc.... ![]() Back to basics. There are times that I think it might be fun to have something like that, but it's too hot here to have something that basic.

Great pics as always Skip! I esp. like the "River Of Life" doors that adorn our CA missions - many of which are originals! "Some carpentry work that has survived the years are the wooden doors on some of the original mission buildings. The doors at the missions were important, and were often carved with a special design. A favored design was called the “River of Life.” Pairs of wavy lines were carved from top to bottom of the door. This was an Indian design, a reminder that life is not always good and not always bad, but that life just goes on, like a river."
