A few Infrared shots.
The B&W shots are pretty much straight out of camera.

This color one is 590nm and requires post processing to get the false colors.
Straight out of camera it's mostly orange.

Last night just before sunset walking past the well 10' away, noticed something out of the corner of my eye. Ended up being a water drop. As I got close, I realized that the insulation was wet. Our drought this year has caused the ground to move which has wreaked havoc with the plumbing. This is the third break, second on a 90ş and one on a straight coupling. Told the missus "we need to get quick showers now!" Then filled a couple of buckets and a pot and killed the power to the pump.

Texted the man last night so I wouldn't have to take off work this morning to deal with it myself. He had someone here at 8.

Australian Pink Floyd

Very good cover band with some amazing vocals from the 3 female singers, my first in person concert since the Rona

Just finished helping a buddy rebuild a wall that had been slowly rotting away, tore it apart down to the studs- several of them needed replacing too...

Glad that's done before the rainy season starts, and he's got a decent gutter up to avoid the problem going frontwards!

Milo feels we are wasting time, we could be throwing sticks for god's sake!

Nice work getting the buddy back whole again!

On the plumbing above, the guy said that when he cut the pipe it sprang apart by quite a bit because of the tension that it had been under.

That does look waaay better, re-insulating too I assume?

Also just back from a SoCal trip to visit our Son, his girlfriend and her dog. Happy to say he's thriving down there, moving up in Sunrun's ranks and building furniture from exotic woods and selling them... happy he's taken his love of woodworking to a level that supports itself.

Headed south from Pasadena area to Del Mar for a few days, took in San Diego sights, sounds and scents.

Really enjoyed Torry Pines and Point La Jolla areas

Del Mar beach environs

Rainer and Hood were spectacular on the way down despite wild fires burning just south of Rainer.

That looks great! What was used, if any to support the roof while replacing the studs and supportive structure?

Yes. That will be getting new insulation, and I've got a few other spots to insulate as well, other spots that we've removed insulation. I'll probably go with some of the black foam, and then add more bat on top of that.

It's very cool that he's doing woodworking and making furniture. You should post some shots of some of his stuff sometime.

Great shots of Ranier and Hood! I miss being able to see mountains.

What camera/etc?

My Nikon 610 had a recent death but, for other purposes and backup, my D700 is doing well enough - but I guess there's an IR sensor on the "film" gate that screws things up.

Advice? (and now I need to go find some shameful examples of my own...)

random pics that YOU have taken.......

Sitting in an open area with dozens of open lounge chairs….. trying to enjoy the sunset on Maui with the wifey.

Then this group decides to cockblock our view. Granted, I understand wanting to watch it, but seriously people….. sunset educate.
What a bunch of clowns….
Then a second group sits directly behind us within 10 feet with screaming toddlers. Again, all of this open room and why do they choose the exact area of us, to occupy……. riddle me that Batman?!?!?
We moved…..

To the other side of the resort beachfront.
This event reminds me of being the “only” car in an open section of freeway, then having a moke pull directly next to you matching your speed. You slow, they slow, you accelerate, they accelerate. Talk about sheep……..

My son was home this weekend and a great friend of both of ours, prior Marine, Naval Academy pouge (which we tolerate) wanted to sight in his new FAL.

Again, as I wrote in the fishing thread, John and Jack might as well have been speaking in tongues. John loads his own ammunition so it is times infinity on the chit chat.

I had anything other to do than listen to those two. They have a clip board FTLOG.

Harvest time on the farm.

I used my new 4 foot table today. Needed something to fillet on and this is perfect. Can just hose it off when I’m finished. I like.
