If Starbuck was a Cylon ( I think she won't turn out to be one) The Cylons have plenty of Vipers lying around on the 12 colonies. All it would take is a few FTL jumps and they could get a new one to her.

the freaky white aliens in the crystal ships will appear, and turn out to be behind starbuck's remodeled ships.

boomer's and the chief's kids are not the final cylon. already established that the are not. and if they were, the count would be up to 13. they dropped a huge clue back in season one.

the time loop back to earth scenario makes sense. which is disappointing because i hate time travel endings.



and this is all time that could be better spent watching babylon 5.

Here is some fodder for the fire:

Why can't Cylons reproduce? They may have had limited stocks of DNA when producing the the primary "organic" models. The are basically clones. These models, may get pregnant when they interbreed, but they produce still born, or seriously inbred type babies. They may need human DNA to reproduce.

I'm going to go with obvious and state that the final five are:

The Chief, Tory Foster (Presidential aide), Col. Tigh, Anders, and Starbuck

Season 3 we find out, basically, that Starbuck's mom was a captive of the Cylons. She knew she had a Cylon construct as a baby. I expect that all of the "final five" were similary put into the human civilation.

I expect that the eye scan programming is a defensive mechanism, like IFF, so that the machine cylons will not kill them. I expect that all of the cylon models have this. I alsd expect that the programming in the regular cylons is more extreme when they find a one of the final 5. Hence, they all leave when they scanned Anders.

I really enjoyed this episode. Especially that both the President and Baltar are on the base ship that just jumped. Where and Why!!

I think that Starbuck is the obvious choice as #5.
Maybe that alone means that she isn't.

When speculating, keep in mind that there are only 22 episodes in season 4 - being split into 10 and 12 for the year. May 16th was episode 8, which should indicate that we have 1 more next week and then a "cliffhanger" or a 2-parter that will keep us hooked until the next 12 start in the fall.

The timing is what gets to me. So 43 years ago, the cylons were toasters and they were starting to make the hybrids and humanoid models. Therefore, the final 5 came out of that batch, went to earth, and then came back and reinserted themselves for long enough to be as old as Tigh and the chief.

Maybe they are planning a time travel explanation or maybe these models were made a long time ago. Does anyone know how long the cylon war is supposed to have been?

I think they should just name the "hub" the "death star" and cut through all the crap. Same plot.
