Good episode, but I'm not happy with the Tigh / Six pregnancy. Doesn't make sense.

EJ Almos' acting is superb. His scene when he was angry with Athena was gritty, raw and well done, IMHO.

They're forbidden to - I think this was touched on in the episode or two back in discussing why the 3s were boxed. Perhaps they've deliberately "de-activated" any ability they might have to know? Maybe the simplicity of the raiders in some way allows them to know whereas the more advanced skinjobs can't?

I bet the hybrids know too - they have that whole "cosmic knowledge" thing, so that would make sense. Or maybe the hybrid passed that information along to the raiders somehow?

Did any of you guys see the previews for this Friday's episode? They unboxed the threes, and one of the threes tells the Prez that she is a Cylon. Or at least that's the way they make it look in the previews. The way they cut short clips together they could just be messing with us. I think its pretty lame to give up such a huge plot point ahead of time. What were they thinking?

According to an Entertainment Weekly interview with Ron Moore, Battlestar's Executive Producer, the FINAL cylon is supposed to sit at the empty seat between Tigh and Lee.

This single statement allows us to rule out EVERYONE at the table.


He also says that the symbolism of the poses is very revealing. From Tyrol holding the knife, to Starbuck being embraced by Anders. Everything is significant.

Interesting -- I've seen that image many times, but never considered that the poses would have any significance to the BSG story -- I thought it was just a creative pose set for PR.

I suspect that looking at DaVinci's Last Supper may reveal somethings as well...

So.. that means the last cylon isn't:

- Baltar
- Adama
- Prez. Roz
- Helo

Who can it be?

I've been looking at both the BSG Last Supper image, as well as the Da Vinci original, and reading up on the Da Vinci artwork.

Here is what I suspect in the BSG photo -- the players (minus the final cylon) are all there, but they are not taking up their proper place at the table. If you rearrange them, the pic may make more sense.

That said, I think the following are significant items:

- Roslyn: the match and burning chalice represents her faith in her religion. I believe she is looking directly at Adama.
- Gena is pointing at Six, but Six doesn't appear to be looking at anything, which is part of the reason I believe the characters are deliberately misplaced in the picture.
- Saul is looking at the missing person - perhaps in disbelief, perhaps in shock. The book infront of him is closed - but either the back cover is on top (the book was read and is now complete) or is upside down.
- The chalice infront of the missing person -- all I can say is that it is the same color as the toaster's metal. Need to consider it's significance. Does it mean sacrifice? Authority? Is it somehow connected to the glass of water infront of Baltar? Or the glass of water infront of Anders? Is there a connection between Baltar and Anders, and the final cylon?
- Apollo - his back is turned away from the rest - does this signify his regection of all things military? It appears he is taking notes and contemplating someting -- why?
- Baltar - what is he holding in his right hand? Appears to be concealing something.
- Six has a bracelet on her right wrist - kinda looks like a thorn or two coming out of it. Who is she looking at?
- Starbuck has a book infront of her, but unlike the book infront of Saul, the front cover is on top. Unopened? Unread? The start of something? Anders is covering her tatoo with his hands/arms. What is he whispering in her ear?
- Tyrol looking at the knife - it this like the knife in McBeth? Is it related to the knife supposedly in the DaVinci picture - (Peter holding a knife). Does this represent a compusion or a future violent reaction.
- Athena - what is up with her right hand? Looks like if you move her next to Saul, her hand would be resting on top of the grey chalice. The book is opened infront of Athena and Helo - why? Does the book represent their destiny, and that it is being played out right now? They are holding hands
- Adama - does look removed from the scene - is he in disbelief? Rejecting Pres Roslyn's faith?
- Only Prez and Adama are sitting on the table.
- Only Apollo and Baltar have their elbows on the table.
- Only Starbuck's eyes are closed. (Can't see Saul's left eye, but it appears to be open)
- Both Adama and Saul have the Admiral insignia on their uniforms.
- It seems that Ros and Tyrol are the only ones who have only one foot on the ground.
- You can't see Gena and Apollo's right hands.
- You can't see Saul's and Tyrol's left hands.

The more I think about it, the more I think that Billy may be the final cylon. The current president's aide isn't in the picture - why? Maybe to make room for Billy? Not sure...

My guess is Felix Gaeta.
Partly, because he is now singing to music in his head.

But mostly:
For the three years prior to the Cylon attack on the Twelve Colonies, he served as William Adama's Senior Officer of the Watch aboard Galactica. He was in a position to influence decisions, such as staffing decisions that allowed the 4 of the final 5 known to us to be onboard Galactica.

Adama to relies heavily on him as a member of Galactica's command crew - adding to his ability to influence.

As Tactical Officer, Gaeta manages the ship's FTL systems - perhaps explaining how the Cylons keep finding them.

I thought she was looking over to Natalie.

Yea, I dunno about Baltar. Historically (when one looks at the original series) Baltar was always shown as "in league" with the cylons, but never actually one of them. You were always led to wonder what his true allegiance was (at least that's my recollection, it was a long time ago). I think this new series captures the essence of his conflicted nature pretty well and still casts some doubt onto his true nature (human/cylon). I used to think he was the logical candidate but at this point I'd be a bit surprised if he were shown to be.

OK try this one on for size (just popped into my head):

Galactica finds its way to earth only to find any traces of human habitation long since gone/destroyed. The cylon base ship shows up along with pursuing "hostile" cylons initially looking to blow both the humans and the turncoat cylons (on the base ship with Roslyn) out of the sky. Cooler/more spiritual heads prevail and it is decided that Hera and Tigh/6's kid (we'll assume male) are sent to the surface of Earth to form a new settlement demonstrating new goodwill between the two races.

Everyone's happy and Hera/no-name-kid become "Adam and Eve" giving birth to a new race (us).

The only problem is that makes us 3/4 cylon I guess. Unless it's some kind of thing that genetically gets purged out. Dunno.

Plausible?
