Hmm... call me cynical, but I'm betting it takes a bit more than that...

Funny how those most homophobic are very often the most insecure in their sexuality. Someone as hung up as Snowman-well, you have to wonder. How long would he go in jail? A week? A month, before taking one for the team? As hetro as ever, tho.

I think about jail a lot. And the Navy.

Still, these are the End Days. Snowman would be expecting to ascend to Heaven with a holy host any time now.

This is quite common. Gyms, martial arts, change rooms, hunting trips and like. These environments allow close physical same sex intimacy in a manner deemed socially acceptable.

Dont be afraid of it Snowman. Go with it. The ladies love it, and ofcourse, you are twice as likely to get lucky.

Bet his favorite part of team sports was the shower room too. Wonder who dropped the soap. . .

Anyone else think his username "Snowman" is a subtle solicitation/proposition for white males?

"Religious freedom" as I see it includes the freedom to be free of religion and its associated intolerances, feeble attempts at behavior modification and control. I could care less what faith (if any) someone decides to partake in - I just don't want it in my government and to be honest, I don't really want to hear about it.

Believe what you want in the privacy of your own home, but leave it there. The rest of us ain't interested and ain't buying. "Freedom" is a two-sided coin. . .

Religion is supposed to be about one personally living a righteous life....not making others do or don't do something you think they should do. In fact, if something's forced, not done willingly, that is bad in the eyes of God.

Indeed.

There is after all, only one Donald Fagan, and he is merely mortal. One assumes.

the point i was trying to make, that with religion , not everybody has the same god, and CC might be referring to the Christian form of God ( who is in theory the same one as for Judisme and/or Islam)
but even that one and the same god, is beeing interpretated differently.

and i'm not even talking Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, or tribal deities, such as perhaps Lono the god of War...

this obviously is the best case against religious ranting outside the privacy of ones house, or church...

making it illegal to bother people with your religious ideas in theory should not be in conflict with freedom of speech

i rate it the same as forbidding some stalker to harras his victim any further over the phone...

freedom of speech , fine, you are free to speak religion in your house and or church, if anyone is intrested, then that somebody can come to your place, or invite you cordially to his place..

obviously , such ethics SHOULD not be regulated by law, and SHOULD ideally be governed by the religious rules, and in most cases they ARE
but also obviously, religion is more often then not abused by big ego's, who make their own interpretation that lacks ethics...

now to think this can be regulated by law, would be naiive, because of all things, most religions are based on fear, and the fear that they will be at all limited in their freedom to believe in hell just makes them slightly irate, there's no better unifyier then fear, as is prooven by how politicians get their people to vote for them , and take hardship just because they have an external enemy...which is a good Goering quote as well.. look it up if you will

realistically it is allready regulated by the seperation of church and state, and in most countries that's enough, but unfurtonately in the US , the seperation is very vague... and lobby groups have a lot of power... in European countries, most of these things would not go via lobby groups, but via multiple political parties, and the influence of religion would be a lot more diluted by the time the election is over...and as coalition majorities are formed through compromises

and just like with Gay pride parades, the populace could agree for each religion to have it's day in the sunshine... call it PR of ones religion/movement...

let the Gay folks have their day
and the Christians can have theirs
same for Buddhists
Hindu's
Jew's
Muslims
and even an Atheist day

make em known, so those who are not into the event , can make other arrangements, such as playing scrabble at home
or travel abroad or what not...

they are not mutually exclusive, it's not be cause it's hindu day that a christian is not welcome
and it's not because it's a christian day that everybody has to proove that he's not a pooftah..

but it does mean that if you go to the other gangs parade, you will not harras them with your ideology if you don't agree..

either you go , and you play nice
or you don't go

i think that Budhists are best off, because they are tolerant by belief and never cause any trouble, which means nobody botheres them in return...

in fact, i think i'm gonna join their gang...
just look at the Dalai Lama , and then look at the Pope , or all the other religious leaders

who's the guy who looks the most at ease with his existance?
who seems peacefull?
who looks happier?

Nostatic - American Beauty

Perfect example too.

Watch the movie and understand.

I am a Christian I go to church often, I am told in church its wrong to be gay among other things.

I also find the people that protest the most about sin are usually the ones that have the most to hide. I have seen this scenerio play out many times over.

When I used to supervise crews at another company I got chewed out by a Born again Christian employee that was also the churches youth minister for listening to Howard Stern on my radio. I was positive he was going to punch me in the face while he was yelling at me on the top of his lungs and throwing stuff around the office in a rage over somethign Howard said.

6 months later he was sitting in prison for 5 years for child molestation and kidnapping charges. He was 37 years old and was boinking a 15 year old from his youth group.

I have lots and lots of stories like this and quite a few from members of my church and in almost EVERY case these were the ones with the biggest mouths and the most holiest attitude.

Jim, that's an even-keeled perspective a lot of us forget about. I think most Christians are tolerant, accepting people... they just don't get as much airtime.

My next door neighbor is clean livin' Baptist. No booze, no swearing... but very tolerant and an all around fantastic guy. I used to hide beer bottles etc when he came over, he saw me doing it once and laughed. He has pretty "hardline" views on homosexuality, marriage and many other things, but he is able to discuss them without foaming at the mouth. He's actually made me a lot more tolerant of his perspective.
