Katie,
Now you're yanking our collective chains. You're being a real girl here - sorry but it's true. With all the sound advice you still come back to "I love the colour and the BBS wheels". *****!!! What about the rest of this dunger??? You're thinking skin deep only; much like the dreamers who stand in my office fairly regularly and announce they wish to buy a "2.4S Coupe, silver with black, must be Aus delivery, all original blah blah". Can I recommend a car for them? Given there were only a handful delivered new down here I usually don't even raise my head from my desk when I say "join the queue; sorry my wand is broken". You want BBS's? EASY - BUY A SET when they come up for sale. They do; I had probably 3 sets spare and sold them - they're around. You want lilac? Fine - paint a better car than this POS pink with purple spots if it takes your fancy. You think the only issue here is the Turbo? Well honey, go ahead; make my day....buy your dream car - BUT DON'T COME BACK AND WHINE ABOUT IT; OK?! Jeez - I spend enough time arguing with my kids - don't need another. Good luck Katie - you're old enough take make your own errors and wear the results. Maybe you'll grow A LOT through the experience. Here's some BBS-heeled pics to keep you drooling - and no - your budget doesn't come near either of these babies...

OK OK I get it. I'M NOT GOING TO BUY IT!!! Happy now? I'm not. But I'll get over it. Eventually.
I'll still think about it, miss it, want it, etc. everything I can do without actually buying it. I keep telling myself that regret is better than guilt. I'd rather regret buying one than bought it and can't afford to keep it. I just want to thank you all again for pointing out all the faults on this car that I failed to see (no, not because I didn't want to see them, but because I actually couldn't see them). If it wasn't for you guys and your razor-sharp eyes, I would have ended up with the biggest mistake of my life. So for now, I've decided that I'm going to concentrate on what's really important--school work--and I'm not going to look for other 911s to buy until the time is right (ie, 2 years or so--maybe sooner) which really isn't that long to wait...I'm just rather impatient... With any luck, maybe this clunker will still be around by then, even if it's a junk yard somewhere, lol. Thanks again guys, seriously. I do appreciate it, and I really hope I haven't come off as too much of an ass... A lot of the posts were made in frustration or anger and weren't thought through of how they came across...my apologies for that. I don't want anyone to hate me.

Cross post Katie. Glad to hear you came to your senses - that car is perhaps one of the worst condition 911's on the market today. It's not even a real S.

Buy the car. Wayne needs to fund his kids' college fund.

hey, don't laugh
, I start work on it next week. And the age-old question will be answered: can you use an 86 coupe floor pan in a 70 targa. My grinder and Miller 135 says yes!

Paul; as previously stated - "you" are techically NOT wearing a bikini...
and anyway; it was Katie who originally posted about gettin' down and soapy in bikinis with her P-car in another thread (not me - knew where that would get me!). This is Katie's thread...and she seems conspicuously absent when it comes to the "bikini response"...maybe she is "more grown up" than I have given her credit for .

Lisa, just show 'em some car pics and they're bound to be distracted long enough to forget what they were asking about. Well, maybe not that Paul character. His pic was just so unbelievably wrong.

Wrong? Well...um...yeah (I find it hilariously funny; but then I'm not a guy).
OK - if it's pics you want....today is our 16th wedding anniversary so I'm indulging in a walk down memory lane. If I look uncomfortable; yes I was! The bodice of my dress was heavily beaded and being a car gal I was perched atop of this car ever so gently lest I scratch my good mate's SC front fender. This was the least "desirable" of our cars (in a nice way of course) - I wasn't game to lie across any of the others. Mind you this SC went like the proverbial... 5 Porsches as wedding cars 16 year ago today...I can still remember the 100mph+ blast of all five as we headed from photos to reception in inner suburban Melbourne! No veil for me; no "white" for me - dress was ivory as I was no angel (still ain't). Hair dishevelled as my car was an outlaw Speedster Dad built for a friend - roof off and damn the hair! What fun - OK self-indulge is over now...back to our usual programming...
