Livi, I completely understand and even can agree with your statement. Good summary.

What bothers me about women is that even if I am prepared to be a mate for life, fix what needs fixing etc etc, why the heck can't they understand that the way to keep it so is to make sure that they provide the service required to keep things at attention?

I mean, if I were a woman (with a male brain admittedly) I would take the view that the guarantee to make sure that my mate (lemme see...would this make me gay?) did not ever want to pursue another female would be to take every bit of starch out of his sail by working the thing half to death if needs be. Every time you see something pop up, you take it down. Eventually the simple male mate would just find an equilibrium and he'd be off to the garage playing with his toys the rest of the time....

...but I am being simplistic and male....but I repeat myself....

I was in a verbally and emotionally abusive relationship for a quarter-century. That ended four years ago. I am still healing. Healing nicely. I live alone, and it's WONDERFUL. Im at a point now where Im not ashamed to admit I dislike about 85% of all women. Back when I wanted emotional closeness, relationship, etc.. I was instantly placed into the friendzone. Nowadays, I seem to attract a lot of women, simply for hating them. I have actually told one girl "How could you possibly be attracted to me? I find you vapid, boring and unintelligent." it does leave dead animals on my porch, but i think it's ok that it has a hobby, so i positively reinforce that...

all in all , i lost more of the drawbacks compared to the few positives i miss out...

I learned that lesson long before I could have a bad marriage. I was the same, had a girlfriend in high school that I put on a pedestal and she treated me like $h!t. She cheats on me freshmen year of college. I say: "f*** it" and basically started being myself: a brutally honest @$$hole. I haven't had problems since. I think women basically decide early on whether the respect a guy or are going to use him. I made sure they respected me. Now I'm married and I have no regrets.

I have been where you are, the part about it that sux is that you only get there through getting your heart ripped out. The good news is that it can't happen again, that is the bad news too...

Man for a bunch of smart guys - you REALLY don't know what women want... So let me give you a short definately not "all inclusive" list:
