The aft turret of the New Jersey with 3-16" guns are trained to starboard. You can see the rear of the turret with an anti-aircraft emplacement on top.

I expect the inclination test was to check how many tons of seawater would be needed to cause a 1, 2 or more degree list in the hull. Essential for damage control.

Oh ok - it just didn't look right.

Maybe they had to adjust ballast/water whenever they swung those big guns around?

A French company called Vintech has traveled to the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance to reveal its latest creation, a retro-styled sports car dubbed P550 Tribute that was designed as a homage to the iconic Porsche 550 of the 1950s.

At first glance the P550 Tribute appears to be only a vague interpretation of the Porsche 550 Spyder that James Dean famously died in. However, when compared to the much rarer 550 Coupe, the P550's design cues immediately fall into place and its true inspiration becomes clear.

From the shape of the windshield to the fastback-like rear end, the P550 is a modern interpretation of Porsche's race-winning coupe. The only exception is that the P550 is fitted with gullwing-style doors, a feature that was not found on the car it draws inspiration from.

I'm pretty sure that's a carrier... I found it interesting because I wasn't aware the Navy ever used the F-86. I searched a bit and can't find anything to confirm it. Anybody know?
