The thing that has always got me stumped, is how a clutch works.
I understand the mechanics of it.
Just cant belive that it works.

Heya Vas, what's the weather like down your way? Two weeks today and I'll be back down there.

porsche4life 02-23-2012 04:33 PM

Throw a steak in the yard..... ;)

vas930 02-23-2012 04:37 PM

Another thing.
I was driving my turbo through the city last year in 40deg stop start traffic for an hour and a bit.
Hot as hell, saw two cars on the side strip over heating.
32 year old car with no water cooling, with a heap of mods.
Temp did not go over normal.

Outback Porsche 02-23-2012 04:55 PM

Yeah, all too true ;)

I was thinking of doing the trip between Melbourne and Adelaide in something a bit flash like a MB C200K or a Lexus IS250. Hertz want a grand just for a drop off fee! I buggered up and let the missus book the car - Toyota Camry :(

There are two sets of gears in this trans. The ones you can shift and the final drive gears in the differential.

Well, the thrust vs. speed curves get stretched out and no longer overlap if you make the final drive taller, so actually I think the rpm drops will be less if you make the final drive shorter, in effect giving you closer ratios.

Howdy y'all!

Clutches are easy. Try these:

Yes.
But only a small amount.
The gaps are the same. :)
