They are pure race cars, Sid.
450hp is the max for most street cars. It stars to become a waste after that. Driven a few with 600hp. Even with race rubber its a tyre fry.

I had 2 952s. They were fun.
The first one dynoed 278 rwhp and was the car to beat both at the autocross AND around the track. On street tires I swapped fast lap at Hallet with a RUF on slicks considered the fastest car and driver at the event. He even changed tires to try to best me. I would pass him and start to pull away, then my car would got into over boost protection and only idle for 30 seconds and he would pass me back. Then I would catch up and pass him again. It was a blast. Found I had a cracked cyclic valve that would intermittently let the boost go crazy and trigger over boost. The second one was actually quicker with 320rwhp before Lindsey Racing helped me "fix' it and dynoed 415rwhp. Choose your mechanic wisely.

And he was a major brain. He was a top Mensa guy and wrote two great books that I have. Games for the super intelligent and more games for the super intelligent. They will bend you mind with some great logic puzzles.

My mom had 3 cousins that were brothers. Two of them were what was considered normal, the 3rd was a health nut. He demanded a healthy diet and did daily exercise regimen. The third died in his 40's from a heart attack. The other two lived to their late 90's and purposefully did NOT eat a "healthy diet" or exercise beyond playing a round of gold once in awhile.

About time for bed.
I may have to break out my shorts tomorrow. The high is going to be mid to high 70. I like it.

Well, sure it will do something, but i doubt your engine runs and warms up smooth after it fires up the third crank.. in your current config? How does it run? do you have popping in the exhaust? does it surge when accelerating? is it really good to go, could you do a bank gettaway then? a 15-20 minute break ain't that long, so unless it's really cold outside really it shouldn't take to much time cranking there.. that is, unless it's normal running condition is set to lean to begin with.

No, it does not warm up very smoothly.
Yes, the current condition (and the way it will stay) is fully leaned out on the thermostat-replacement screw. Once warmed up the idle is high due to the worn throttle bodies and the throttle response below about 3000 rpm is not that great. If we had the throttle bodies rebuilt I think the idle and warm up might be a little more refined.

Once it is warm it usually runs very well. We treat it like a motorcycle in that it is for fair weather fun, not driving around town or on long trips, so it is fine for that.
Some days it will surge- I guess what you said is a good name for it. Can that be because it is too lean? We do not seem to notice an obvious pattern about temperature or humidity as far as when it does it. It is in the midrange, though, about 3500-4500 rpm.
