A 3-5 watt tube amp will knock your socks off. Really! The one I built was to tone dowe the Fender M80's I had, around 90 watts SS. The amp I built is too friggen' loud! :D
|
If it's too loud you are too old. :) I am thinking of locating a tube pre. That way I can still play quiet.
|
My amp is based off a Fender Champ. Unless you are going to play a stadium with it, it's more than enough.
|
I have tinnitus. Subdued is good these days.
I can still hear!! :p Loud is good. Ear plugs are better. :D |
Yeah I don't need anything to Gig with. I have no desire to play in a band or anything beyond my own relief. This is for me and no one else. Once it becomes a biz it is done

Okay.... I'm Gibson/LP biased, but limited effects and a lot of tubes (and a Leslie!). |
I'll tell ya one thing I have never had a guitar that can handle overdrive like this one, and that includes my old Dean Z. I used the bullet as a pre, full overdrive, into the FM212 full overdrive with the extra overdrive button pushed in and it played, not just feedback.

Youzz gunna like how the tubes make it sound!
|
I never found an LP to be comfortable, I had a 69 and sold it, I fell into it with a Strat.

evening Gents,
well it is the 1st March, and as pr the kids have used up the 50gig download allowance as of yesterday, so it has taken me about 2 hours to catch up with the last few pages of the thread to see what everyone has been up to, and thanks Dave for so many music posts, they took hours to download, lol, I think.
So the bluddy download doesn't reset until tomorrow, sooo annoying. Rick, you are starting to sound like a certain jag owner, a bit in love with a certain object, not necessarily human ... Beth will be getting jealous. :D I am starting to collect the animals two by two, and build an ark. We are still in the raining cycle of La Nina, and we have had around 200mm in the last two days, and 50-100mm more is still expected in the next couple of days. For you imperialists that would be 9 or so inches with another 4 or 5 to come. We have roads closed everywhere, flooding up the kazoob, and the car is starting to smell all musty and yuk, getting in and out of it all the time wet and dripping. Spent the early morning driving everyone around again because they are whimps and didn't want to ride to work, ride to school, or ride to uni. some pedal powered some engine powered. Then after I finally got to work, the bluddy carpark was chockers and I got to walk about a mile in the rain. Not a happy camper. Then from 3.30pm I got to do it all over again in reverse. Joy, bliss, only redeeming thing was I got to go home in the end, after driving through the pouring rain for ages picking them all up again. rant just a small one well maybe not so small and its not even that time of the month.... in fact I am so old it is never that time of the .... sigh maybe I should rant some more.... nnaaaa, can't be bothered. |
I tend to express my deeper emotions with music vids. :D
