Here they just pull you over and write the ticket first, and then you need to prove your innocence in traffic court.

Was it an officer or automated station? Either way, in other countries, you can get a notice at a later time. Here, we tend to get the "notice", ticket, fine, whatever at the time of offense. Seems that time will be spent to fight it either way. :D

Off to bed. Done with taxes. I'll drop off the paperwork with the new accountant on Thursday.

They dont have the test gear with them to give you the fine.
+ it gives you a chance to fix it if need be. Thats fair.
However if you dont pass that test, they go after you big time.
Its like, hey we gave you a chance.
Then ,bang, big fine.
Vas will do a pre test to see what he needs to do if anything.
96db is like Harley loud.
I may be ok as I am. :)

You almost cannot get pulled over for an exhaust that is too loud here. SLO, that's a different story.

vas930 04-03-2012 01:53 AM

Nite, gents.

Rick V 04-03-2012 01:54 AM

I think it is impossible to get pulled over on a hog. double standard here

Rick V 04-03-2012 01:54 AM

Night Noah, Vas

You talkin' ta me?!

Yeah, I got a modified exhaust (VC 27151) ticket about 15 years ago. CHP pulled me over and wrote me on the side of the Hollywood Freeway. Used his highly trained ear on that one. So I borrowed a decibel meter, did my own measurements ('cause the Sheriff-run official inspection stations won't), and fought the ticket in court. It was the principle of the matter. Figured it might make the cop think twice about writing up a willy-nilly ticket next time.

Vas. ;)

Night, Alarick.

I actually worry about that a bit on the Ducatis. If an LEO wanted to be a stickler about it and were to write me up, I don't have stock exhausts for testing purposes and they're near unobtanium to find.

slodave 04-03-2012 01:58 AM

But, but.... A lot of them ride Harley's again out here.

Rick V 04-03-2012 02:00 AM

Around here, anything but a hardly is subject to being pulled over for noise. I will drive through Charlottesville in second just to make noise. I get pulled from time to time and man do I have fun with them. :)

Ahhhhhhhhh love the warm weather. Miss Universe and I have assembled the harem for friday night. :)

slodave 04-03-2012 02:09 AM

Sure.... The Nook for a 3rd attempt?

Rick V 04-03-2012 02:13 AM

Knowing this crowd, it is hard to tell where we will end up. We usually meet at the amphitheater and go from there.

slodave 04-03-2012 02:17 AM

Oooo! Chalk up the wall! :)

Rick V 04-03-2012 02:18 AM

I do have a bunch of sidewalk chalk somewhere. Killer idea. :) I think an body outline may be in order. :)
