I'm not sure how I feel about this, but I really really want one of these.

As soon as the FedEx truck gets here with my new alternator we're going for a ride too.

Who took that picture? What were they doing at my house?!

tweezers74 04-14-2012 08:34 AM

Notice the beer and the knife too? Thought you would like it. ;)

svandamme 04-14-2012 08:36 AM

I did notice and nodded approvingly when i did.

RKDinOKC 04-14-2012 08:52 AM

What? no ladies undergarments for a napkin!?!

svandamme 04-14-2012 09:01 AM

That's a bit pointless Richard... you know just as well as i do, that lace doesn't absorbs grease, sauce and beer spills.

I had a big scare on the 150kmh sweeper onto the straight, scared the crap out of me.
Dont know how I did not hit the wall, but I did not.
Slowed down a bit after that and enjoyed the day.
Racing against all the new M3s and GTRs, for the first time the 930 felt like an old car, not slow, but old.
The brakes on the modern cars are awesome.
Still beat alot of the new cars and all of the older ones.
I have come to see just how under tyred my car is.
A situation I will sort out over the next few months.
Anyhow, that was that.
Back to the same track in two weeks, then a break for winter and some mods to the car.
The great thing with Porsches is the fact that I can drive 2 hours to the track ,drive like a crazy man all day, then drive 2 hours home.
All in a 32 year old car.
A credit to the guys that made our cars back in the day. :)

As long as you had fun. That is what it is all about. :)

Good morning folks. We did get a wake up in the middle of the night. The tornado sirens were screaming. The tornado passed several miles north of us. The sirens go off county wide which is stupid. 720 square mile county and the corner of the county has a storm so everyone gets to hear it.

Vas I love driving my 37 year old 911 across the country 1,4000 miles and run at a track after spending a week driving my car on local roads. Load up and drive home. I have 142,000 miles on a very stock 911. I got a ride at the track in a new Caymin R and it amazing how much faster a modern car is. The car is just a ton faster than mine. I could spend the price difference on my car and still not be that fast. But that new car is a disposable car. It will not be on a track in 35 years in any sort of stock condition.

I just use whatever is handy, not what is the most absorbent, I am a man.

I leave my dirty socks laying around so I will have something to take the light bulb to the next room with me.

svandamme 04-14-2012 11:13 AM

what!?!? you use lightbulbs??
i carry smoldering tinder around from place to place, to light the fire where i go!
And an wooden stick and rope to relight the tinder if i have to

GH85Carrera 04-14-2012 11:36 AM

Smoldering rope, man we never had it that good, we had to rub our hands together until they caught on fire to light something. Our hands were tough not like the kids today with lotion and cremes all the time!

Porsche-poor 04-14-2012 11:57 AM

hello all. Put the charger on the 911. hope to see it start in an hour or two.

svandamme 04-14-2012 11:59 AM

The Harris Bipod worked fine today, very happy with it.
So now i clamped the stock in my vice, slapped some FG epoxy in the area where hte swivel stud has it's base plate, so the wood get's some extra support in that area ...

Then i mounted the harris, and tightened it up so the base plate is pulled into the FG epoxy... Now i wait....

Porsche-poor 04-14-2012 12:03 PM

Turning it into a hammer then. As in drive nails with it at long range.

svandamme 04-14-2012 12:05 PM

Kinda yeah :D
