Have fun. I can't hang mirrors for the simple fact I have yet to figure out how to sneak up on one.
you need one of these
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...keGrenade2.JPG toss that one in the room, it will blind the mirror temporarily , that's when you strike. |
Afternoon folks.
Welp, my hair is shorter, the yard is edged, mowed and fertilized. The tree is planted. I called dibs on the shower but my wife cheated and went first anyway. Now I just have to figure out how to reprogram the sprinkler system to come on now without messing up my regular program schedule. |
I am sure the the controller for my sprinkler system was designed by a person on drugs. The logic of the thing is messed up. Of course I personally installed the system so I know who to blame for mechanical or design problems. That controller is made by
Rain Bird and whoever designed the work flow had to be on drugs. |
$469 is about the same as a good tank water heater. Didn't find any gas powered tankless, all electric.
Mirror weighs 25 pounds. Got two 50lb hangers now to go find out of the house has studs in the walls.
If tha house does not studs in the wall, it was built wrong. :)
I know that and you know that but I have yet to actually find one in 10 years.
Home from two kids' b-day parties in a row. The first was OK. Very cute, as it was a little girl's party. The 2nd was quite impressive. Both at the effort the mom put into it and at the quality of mom(s) there. ;)

How was the flying today, Dave? It was beautiful weather.
Grounded. :) Instructor sent me a text earlier that there were no planes, things were screwed up and he was going home. Maybe tomorrow.

Well did some more research and put a pencil to some figures, looks like i'll just be going back in with a traditional gas water heater.
My gas bill is around $30 bucks a month, consumer reports says despite the claims in the real world the tankless heaters only save 20% at best. That's only $72 bucks a year. A tankless gas water heater sized for my whole house usage is $900 and would cost me another $150 more to change my vent. So, that would be an increased cost of $600 or 8 and a half years just to break even. And that doesn't include the yearly maintenance tankless heaters require. Just doesn't seem worth it when the advantage is you don't run out of hot water (if sized correctly) and I've never had my shower go cold yet anyway. |
Yep, that is what I figured out as well. Tankless is ok if you use a lot of hot water. We don't need that.
Good night guys. Storms are coming in. Gary England has even come in to work. Lots of hail and thunderstorms in the area.
evening guys. Mirror not hung just yet. Told you it was a lazy day.
The stress of taking tests finally hit this afternoon. I tried to keep it at bay. Arg.
I wondered where you've been.
I was studying all afternoon, then went to dinner with my parents. They leave for Europe tomorrow.
I'm starting to doubt myself, not sure if I am ready, but a big part of that is my brain. Even if I rescheduled the test for later in the week, I'd calm down for a few days, only to go through this again. I just have to try and convince myself to be positive about this (usually I'm not). This sucks. I wish I could turn part of my brain off, as it's really not helping me at the moment. |
Aren't you doing decently well in the practice tests?
You're a pretty smart guy, Dave. Obviously I have no FHE of what it takes to pass this test, but I'd be a little bit surprised if you didn't. |
