This makes me feel like poop. Like a bad mommy. :( Choosing to work is a hard choice for a woman. I told my ex to please try and make one of these for our sons and I will do the other one. His response? "I can't. I have too much going on at work". Another reason we aren't married anymore... I am willing to quit my job over this and he doesn't blink twice. Sorry for the pity party. Just stuff weighing on me.

I think it depends on the child. And you are the one that knows best whether it will make a big difference to him it you are there or not.

Myself, I would not really have cared slightly later in life but I can't remember my feelings that far back.

Tweeze, if your not comfortable with 'chucking a sicky', would your boss be accommodating towards you working flexi hours? Work flexi for the day, or making up the time over a few days?

I learned a new word in English class today (no, it was not friend-zoneing used as a verb -- that came a few weeks ago). It was "jorts". The teacher and the rest of the class was like "What?:confused:" when the girl used it in a response about a book. She said "jeans that are shorts, cutoff".

Right then I and another guy both blurted out "Oh, you mean Daisy Dukes". :)
