Try a different software package.

RKDinOKC 11-13-2012 02:43 PM

For decoding weird PC and DVD video formats so I can edit them I use a program called Cinematize Pro, but I use Macs and I paid $79 for it.

it must be a codec issue. are you using a canon camera?

if you will email me a small file from the camera, i can try to sort it out and give you some codec options.

d.

edit: actually, try one of these codec packs, listed below. on the page, use the most recent one. there was a know problem with certain camera codecs vis a vis .mov files, this is the fix.

for 64 bit windows: http://win32.libav.org/win64/

Evening

Funny fails Dave :)

Had a great day yesterday - took an RDO.

Took my ladies out to the pub for lunch, a visit to the optometrist for some new specs, and then a little drive out west in the 944.

My parents finally ended their extended holiday at our house. It was good to see them, but after 7 weeks it was good to see them go. :) It was nice to have a quiet house again with just the two of us (and the furkids). I hope I don't get loud when I go deaf in my old age.

This bloody knotted muscle in my shoulder/neck is giving me the 5hits. Been rubbing Voltaren into it and it still wont give up. Day 3 and I've just about had enough of the bastard :(:(:(

Jim Richards 11-13-2012 05:17 PM

I feel your pain. Except for me it's the lower back. Today was horrible.

Outback Porsche 11-13-2012 05:34 PM

G'day Jim

I can sympathize with you, I used to have lower back problems. My bone cracker fixed that for me last year. X-rays showed significant compression injuries and spurs starting to grow in my neck and lower back. The bone cracker has been busting off the spurs and correcting my posture.

Just got this freaking muscle bitting me at the moment. It feels like it's trying to rip it's anchors off my shoulder blade. Very localized pain.

Thanks D I'll try tomorrow. So far only quicktime will play them correctly. Its an Olympus.

nynor 11-13-2012 09:32 PM

i must say i am surprised, david. generally speaking, VLC will play ANYTHING. that is why i use it.

anyway, give those codecs a try. if you want to email a small file (<5mb) i am happy to sort the codec, etc.

The dog is a 15 year old yellow lab, I've had him half my life, he's had issues with tumors before, bit never this severe....
I'm a little lost. I think the best thing is to just make him as comfortable as possible for the time he has left rather than rounds of surgery and chemo......I just don't know

I'll try that to in the am. Pm me the email address. So far everything will view the file but without sound or just static.

slodave 11-13-2012 10:19 PM

Question: Is the sound okay if you play it via the camera it was taken?

Porsche-poor 11-13-2012 10:22 PM

Yes and fine with quicktime.
