She'll be right down Canberra way. It does get hot & sunny down there in summer, but not for as long as up here. The sun does cook them still, it just takes a little longer.

Yea D, moving all the time is rough. EVERY single year from 1st to 11th I heard the phrase "Everyone, this is Glen the new kid in school".

hahahah

Got two coupes already, bought a cab for the summer, and have a three door three car garage under the house, so she won't be out in the weather or get cold. Canberra does get nice and sunny, and if its hot she has A/C top down A/C full bore, that's me :D, pop down to Manuka for a cafe latte!!!

Um, not sure how to take that Noah

Na, just pulling your leg ;)

You would not believe how close to correct that statement is

I wouldn't advise anyone to swim in this river. Not with what our local brethren do in it when it's dry :eek::eek:

The dirt in my back yard is brick red gumbo clay. It would make great bricks. In fact there is a brick factory a few miles from here. One of my friends has a mason jar full of the local red dirt on her office desk in Kansas. Lots of people see the jar and ask what it is. Most never believe it is soil.

Only moved two times while growing up. Since leaving the nest, I've lived in a number of places throughout the country. Since being married, we've purchased/lived in 10 homes, and had a few short-term stays in apartments. My wife has happy feet, and I'm no so firmly anchored myself.

My mom's parents bought a house in 1925. They lived in the same house until it was time to put them in a nursing home. Over 65 years in one place.

Good morning folks.

The store called yesterday afternoon. Our new microwave is in. Now I have to figure out the trim kit. The instructions say 1 to 3 hours to put it together. It has the base the microwave sits on to center it in the hole. The new microwave has a huge capacity. It is a LOT deeper than the old one.

I figure Saturday will be the day to attack that project.

Porsche-poor 12-06-2012 06:27 AM

Morning all. Double that estimate.

I lookd at the instructions. I really can't imagine it will take me 3 hours. Certainly not 6!

I suspect the 1 to 3 hour estimate on the instructions is for the average homeowner with no tools and skills. (Or a woman)

Porsche-poor 12-06-2012 06:41 AM

Working from the concept that it is universal. If so I'm thinking some modification will need to be made taking longer. I hope not but that has been my experience.

Know this should be in PARF, but just need to vent. Had to hang up on liberal friend that kept trying to tell me all the great things Obama was going to do now that elected. Told him several times I did not want to discuss politics because of the stupidity on both side and lack of effect I can have on any part of it just pisses me off and shoots my blood pressure up. He kept on. So, I ended up saying...

Simple example: You want better public transportation. Why, because the use of public transportation is typically cheaper than the cost of having and using your own transportation and there are people that can't for whatever reason afford their own transportation. So because those people can't depend on providing themselves their own transportation you want me, a person that makes it a priority to work and earn enough to own and maintain my own transportation should pay for better public transportation so they, people that do not make that a priority can use public transportation?

Stop spending money you don't have to try to solve your problems!

Then I hung up on him. He hasn't called back.

GH85Carrera 12-06-2012 08:28 AM

One of the long time local members in the local club is so liberal he makes Nancy Pelosi look ultra conservative. We are still friends but we agreed not to talk politics.

We just talk about religion instead. :p
