Jeff you are too funny. To answer your question that is an umbrella handle

Outback Porsche 12-16-2012 03:44 PM

hehe, sure. Call it what you want. That's just even kinkier ;)

GH85Carrera 12-16-2012 03:59 PM

Umbrella handle, yea right.

Thanks for the laugh Rick & Jeff. I needed that.

Rick V 12-16-2012 04:03 PM

And yet Beth remains quiet during all of this

GH85Carrera 12-16-2012 04:06 PM

No hmmmmmmmmm

Rick V 12-16-2012 04:22 PM

Now that was funny, Rick the Grinch, now if he was only green, I think it would be a perfect description....

Mom made hundreds of these

She made no two alike, they are the mainstay of tree ornaments at our house, and my brother's house.

Bobbin Lace, so pretty, did some of that once, a Belgium friend taught me, took ages to finish one piece, it was intense but satisfying. But they would look so pretty on a tree, are they stiffened with starch or sugar, I know back in the day they used to use sugar dissolved in water to stiffen them when the fabric dried.

its lovely that your families will always have these to decorate the Christmas tree

The snowflakes were crocheted not tatted (bobbin lace). Takes her about an hour each. Once crocheted they are soaked in a stiffener and pinned out till hard. She made each of her kids and grandkids 6 or 7 a year for about 15 years. It's what everyone asked for for Christmas.

Howdy D.

We went to see the movie Lincoln. It is a good movie. It shows how much politics are just like today. The only difference is today's politicians are not 100% white men with facial hair. The 13 amendment is something virtually 100% of people today think is a good idea. I wonder if in 100 years today's issues will look so one sided.

I spent the afternoon under the kitchen sink replacing the faucet. Missed a recital performance by Connor.

slodave 12-17-2012 01:26 AM

Happens every Monday, Rick. Only way to avoid it, is to sleep from Sunday to Tuesday.

Morning.

Rick V 12-17-2012 01:31 AM

Morning Dave, now I think I actually like that idea.

pete3799 12-17-2012 04:19 AM

Yeaaaaaah...school's closed.
Oh .......wait.....haven't been to school in 40 years. Never mind.
