we are only getting slush blown against the windows so hard you think they are going to break!!! and the bloody big tree next door is swaying aaahhh!

But the best story of the day is the Metrocast guy who has been working all afternoon on the house next door and the cable box that sits on the lawn outside our house, he has been working in the most atrocious conditions, he needs a medal, or at least a hot cup of coffee, but since he is not working on my house he gets nothing from me!!!

For us its the wind.

We would never have power if wind knocked out the power around here. 50 MPH winds are not common, but not unusual. And that is with no storm, just winds.

The 300 MPH winds recorded a few years back will take out everything. That was a bad tornado.

We have natural gas fireplace that produces some heat, but it has not been lit in years.

Just sent the real estate agent an email, we have lost about a square yard of tiles from the roof, the bitumen type, so thought I would tell them that it will need fixing after the storm, since our house is four storeys high I don't think they will be sending anyone out in a hurry!!!!

Noticed whilst checking out the tiles that the tree next door has dropped a sizable branch on their lawn, jst waiting for the rest now.

True story:

On the first date with my now wife one of the things we discussed was the Far Side. We were both relieved when we discovered that we both loved Far Side.

we have two gas fireplaces putting out a fair amount of heat when required, they are battery operated assisted start so do not require power, they are called the auxiliary heating, and I have it going at the moment, just because it give a lovely ambiance on a cold wintery day.

Yes Jim, I don't think the radiating heat is going to reach that far!

My engineering authority is a moron.

The knob held up a drawing set for a first prototype spin for three days because the drawing file name caused the drawing detail to shift off the page center when it printed.

DIKCHEAD is all I can say...........

Jim Richards 03-06-2013 02:56 PM

Morning, Jeff.

Hey azzy, Lu is looking over your recipe and wanted to know what "caster sugar" is. Thanks!

Outback Porsche 03-06-2013 03:05 PM

I think you call it superfine sugar

Jim Richards 03-06-2013 03:10 PM

Thanks Jeff. If I'm not mistaken, we have fine but not superfine sugar here in the US. We're kind'a coarse people I guess.
