Going to would care once a week.

Before the little toe knuckle removal surgery he was putting Prisma on it, some kind of silver sponge looking thing. After leaving it on for 3 days I would change the dressing myself daily.

After the surgery they sent a home health care wound care nurse out every other day. A week ago Friday she didn't like way it looked and came out every day until I went to the doc Tuesday.

Yep, I missed it.

Ok. Well, that's good. I wish I lived near you. I would have helped you change that dressing every day and helped you with your mom's meds while I was at it. Hang in there, Richard. I know easier said than done. :(

Richard it sounds like you are on the right track bud. Hopefully they get it kicked soon.

Night all.

tweezers74 06-02-2013 12:41 AM

That was supposed to say your mom's MEDS not mess. Fixed it.

And Sidney, you are asking for trouble... But it might be fun. Let's keep them guessing! :)

Gets really frustrating when she refuses to eat. She lost 20lbs in the last month and her tongue is white. My sister-in-law's only comment was that Mom needed to loose some weight anyway. I had to tell her that not eating to the point that you only sleep and get tired and winded just walking across the room is NOT the right kind of weight loss.

Her tongue is white? She might have thrush. Does it look thick but won't rub off? Maybe looked cracked? Does she have white spots anywhere else? That might be why she isn't eating. Might be painful. Just a guess...

Good night... My arms and pole kisses hurt.

RKDinOKC 06-02-2013 01:18 AM

No, I've had thrush it isn't that. The top is whitish like when someone doesn't eat.

Took her to doc last Wednesday, they put her on that stuff you take a teaspoon a day to make you hungry and told her she needs to eat. They took blood, but she was fine at her regular check up 2 months ago when all this was starting.

She has gotten where she chews her food for longer and longer and then spits it out instead of swallowing. i've picked through the balls she spits out and it is all very chewed up. Think she has forgotten how to swallow what she is chewing.
