Well d.... I can vouch that a spec miata sticks like crazy on the track, and that Todd knows how to handle it. I left my lunch on the ground in the pits as evidence after the run.....

Fun day though. My first track day and I may be hooked. That miata is intense in the track too.

excellent! motion sickness?
That and the heat. It was in the 106 range and I'd been not feeling to great earlier in the day but had cooled down and gotten hydrated. When we switched I'd already done a 20 minute stint driving the racecar and spun it on the last lap. So I wasn't in grade a shape when Todd took over and started going all out. Afterwards someone pointed out to me that they thought I looked pretty rough at the switch and they almost told me to stay in. I wish I had...

I layed under the ac for an hour in just shorts sweating. I think that's the worst I've ever been effected by heat. Once I got to where I could get a cold shower I felt way better. Drinking lots of ice water now.

that sounds like heat stroke/exhaustion. be careful with that!

Ya. I'd been sucking down water and powerade trying to fight it.

Ya... I was supposed to make the 3hr drive back to Reno tonight, but Todd insisted I stay over here with them in the RV tonight and drive back tomorrow. It was a good move. I'm beat and the street miata has marginal ac and a rough ride. I wouldn't have been good to drive that.

Glad you are feeling better. T-Hill can be brutal when it's really hot and you don't realize how much work you are doing while driving. We encourage all DE drivers to drink water and pee between every session when it is hot. If you don't need to pee, you didn't get enough water. Getting your shirt wet and wearing those phase-change neck bandanas also helps control body temps. Personal safety first.

Yep, a Miata is a formidable track weapon in the hands of a skilled driver.

Noice rock Gman.

Happy Territory Day everyone. Today we celebrate self governance as a 'sort of' state (it's a territory, not a state and thus our legislation can be overridden by the whim of a federal pollies private members bill). Anyway, Armageddon has arrived in the form of fireworks. Hugo the furkid is not a happy camper. We are getting lots of cuddles.

So what does it take to become a state?

I was living in Hawaii when it became a state. About all I remember is lots of fireworks and parades.

We live just a couple of miles from an amusement park. They have fireworks every Friday night. Of course with the 4th of July coming we will hear lots of fireworks. The college campus just a mile away shoots fireworks on the 4th. I can sit in our formal dining room and see those.

Good morning folks.

Morning Glen.

There's a few other things but essentially the federal government needs to agree to give us up. Unfortunately we're too good an income (natural resources) to pass up.

Morning Jim.

The explosions are starting to get less.

Now it's time for the boneheads to let a mumbo one off at random intervals over the next four hours, timed in such a way that you just start drifting off to sleep before the next BOOM!

Well....

It is Monday, and I am back at work. Last Monday morning I was wandering around a golf course with hundreds of Porsches on it. From Swimwagons to the first 911 ever.
