Dated a gril in HS whose Dad coached the local OKC minor league Basketball team. I didn't make a single game.

A gentleman does not kiss and tell.

The only time I played baseball was in grammar school. Played positions of pitcher, catcher, and outfield, was the clean up batter. Doctor's orders were to not play sports at all and had to quit. Wasn't until i was driving that the Doctor said I could get involved in sports and i had found other interests. Even got taken out of gym class and instead of sitting in study hall was a teacher's aide for the band director's in both jr high and HS.

I wouldn't be concerned about the coolant lines running through the cam valley on the Cayenne, Porsche replaces it with an improved version under warranty. If I were to go Cayenne, I would want a GTS, but after driving the under powered rover around town for a few years I think the 6 cylinder would be plenty.

Thanks Jim, but we are having almost record temps in Sweden at the moment. I need a beer.

Wait. I got beer. In my hand. Right now.

I took the day off work to be tortured. I am working in the 95 degree garage at the estate sale for my parents house.

I have taken up Watching the shoes of the customers. One guy had to have had bowling shoes on.

Why did the doc say not to play sports?

Right about my second birthday I got a really bad ear infection and was visiting my sister on the indian reservation in Gallup NM. They took me to an indian doctor. The were upset because he made my ear bleed and didn't get rid of the infection. It had gotten better by the time we got back home.

A few months later at the checkup at my regular doctor he noticed I was limping. One leg was shorter than the other. They did some testing and found the infection from my ear had mutated and moved to the weakest point in my body. My legs just happened to be having a growth spurt so that is where the infection moved, the bones in my legs. It weakened the bones growth causing my legs to grow different lengths.

Because the infection was only effecting new bone growth and was in the bone (very difficult to get any treatment into) I was not allowed to put any weight on my legs until they were both the same length again. That was over a year. After that time I was restricted to limiting weight bearing activities on my legs until they were absolutely sure the infection was gone. If I walked or was on them too much my legs would ache so badly I could not sleep at night. I had LOTS of pedal cars, tricycles, and bikes.

Doc was very upset to find I had been playing baseball. Wasn't until after my 16th birthday that he gave the go ahead to get into any kind of sport that involved bearing weight on my legs. Then he warned that it would be very painful while the bones were strengthening, but would eventually get better with time. In fact, trying to get my strength back from being off my foot for a year I am having those same leg pains keeping me awake at night that the doc described as the bones strengthening.

Wow this sitting a 100+ all day sucks.

Rick, how can you do it and work on a car. Drinking some cold beer helps. Of course that helps almost everything.

Home from college for the summer I swapped out the 305 for a 400 in my full size 81 GMC Jimmy. Picked up a 78 Monte Carlo with a busted heater core for $200 for the donor 400. The plan was to pull the 400, rebuild it, then pull the 305 and install the 400.

After pulling the 400 and putting it on a stand to work on I found there was barely enough room to roll the engine stand into the garage let alone tear it down and rebuild it. While they weren't hoarders, they did live through the depression and had a tendency to keep everything. There was basically path just wide enough to walk from the house to the overhead door in the one car garage. So, I set about cleaning out the garage.

On a beautiful Saturday Morning I started the job. Put all the keeper stuff in the yard to organize and pack back into the garage and piled the "trash" in the driveway. The trash pile was big enough to fill the bed of a pickup truck.

Well, just so happened garage clean out weekend, two of my parents neighbors had garage sales. People were constantly stopping and asking what the price was for this or that laying in the yard. I would explain I wasn't having a garage sale, I was just cleaning out my garage and while the stuff in the yard was for keeps, they could have anything they wanted from the pile in the driveway for free as I was just going to haul it off anyway. Every one of them went through the pile.

Guess what. By the end of the day the pile was small enough to fit in a trash can, AND there wasn't anything in the trash pile that wasn't broken beyond repair or scraps off things. Some people didn't feel right about it and gave me money anyway. I remember making almost $20 off the trash pile. One guy paid me for an old electric drill that not only had a sheared off armature shaft, but it would shock the pee out of you any time you pulled the trigger.

A couple of guys pulled up in a Monte Carlo the same year as the motor donor and were real interested in why I had the engine on a stand in the yard. They bought the Monte Carlo sans engine with busted heater core for $250. Said all they wanted was the straight body to do body wise to their Monte Carlo what i was doing with the motor on the Truck.

$900 to replace a parking brake actuator. I told the service manager they can either step up to the plate and do what's right when my car repeatedly breaks immediately after they service it or they can step up to the bench in a month or so....
I'm gonna hash out a rough draft complaint to drop off Monday am for their attorney.....im up to 5400 in actual damages and given the nature of my claim id he justified to file in circuit court rather than magistrate so I can seek the full treble damages
