Yep. Even the longhoods that were optioned with the right side mirror were asymmetrical.

Incredible that I have not noticed this during the almost ten years of ownership. We obviously have not been intimate enough. :)

My wife taught me to set the mirrors to see the entire adjacent lane (on each side) where a car might be just behind or partially overlapping our car(s). It's more effective than setting it to just look down the sides of the car.

Chatty this morning, fellas. :) just got a text from my best friend. We have been best friends since we were 12. She is at the hospital and getting ready to deliver her twin boys!!!! Can not freaking wait to be an auntie again. My friend is 39 and her hubby is in his mid 40's. they have no freaking clue of how their life is going to change... ;)

It's how I was taught by my father. They don't teach you that in drivers ed around here. I give my fiance a hard time about it. Whenever I have to drive her car, I adjust her mirrors all the time. She has them pointed to see behind you like an extension of the rear view and I told her just look in your rear view for that. I did about 4-5 of just straight 2 - 3 lane highway driving and being able to see blind spots was a must.

I had to look up images for the cars on google. Looks like if the car was altered in anyway the owner made it symmetrical.

That needs to change, because you have to know the slightest hint of when your baby gets sick.

I grew up with a tool maker/robotics engineer so having an eye for placement and symmetry comes as a curse. I can't believe I didn't notice it earlier, I always have felt off about the passanger side of my car but for the longest time couldn't put my finger on it. Yesterday I drove home from work and pulled up to the garage and sat there for a minute just to unwind and think about a few things while the car was just purring at an idle. I mainly thought about when to change the oil for the colder season. Then I looked over at the mirror, not into to see the reflection but at the actual mirror. That's when I noticed it's placement, I looked back at the driver side and was like "WTF?" I got out to look at the car from the outside and thats when my dad popped his head out of the back door, "What's wrong?" I yelled back, "Some genius F'ed my mirror up and put it in the wrong spot!" Then I started thinking about porsche and how they do some things intentionally sometime and thought this may have been done on purpose.

I noticed my mirrors right away. And I have them pointed out wide. I want to see the other lanes not the side of my own car. I know the sides if my car will not change position.

That just means the revocation is really gonna hurt!! SmileWavy

I noticed the asymmetric mirros make the car pull a little to the left at speed above 130. That's why they put the antenna aerial on the passenger fender. Balances the aero at high speed.

RKDinOKC 11-05-2013 08:40 AM

Maybe not

My 73E hot rod felt more at home running on CCW tracks.

rhd???

RKDinOKC 11-05-2013 11:07 AM

Torque steer usually makes a car want to turn left on acceleration.
