Oh I know.

I guess the French controlled both Viet Nam and Korea for many years. From what I remember there were more French speaking Koreans than Vietnamese. But I am a LONG way from an expert and too lazy to Google it.

I have a lot of French influence in my family. A large portion of my mom's side of the family lives in St Tropez. We also think there is some French ancestors on my paternal grandmother's side. Several of my aunts are French and my cousins are half French. No Korean. ;)

Les fautes que j'ai corrigé sont vraiment minimes, c'est pas mal du tout !

On dit bonne nuit uniquement lorsque l'on va se coucher :)

I never heard that statement but French is spoken a lot in Africa for exemple, more precisely North of Africa

GH85Carrera 11-13-2013 08:59 AM

Again as I remember Korea & Vietnam and many other countries in Asia and all around the world were once French colonies. There are many parts of Louisiana USA that are French.

I remember my dad talking about the French speaking Koreans he knew while he was station at Seoul S Korea in the 60s.

GH85Carrera 11-13-2013 09:05 AM

OK I Googled it and found this:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/French_campaign_against_Korea_(1866)

I guess the Japaneese had Korea as a colony. My history class in high school was a long time ago. SmileWavy

aymericv59 11-13-2013 09:05 AM

I'm sure for Louisiana but others you learn me my history ahah I will be a little more curious about !

Edit: yes I think it's more that, French were in war with Korean but this wasn't a colony :)

Never hesitate to correct me if you see any faults :)

You are correct, Vietnam was a French colony for quite some time.

French Doors in these parts are usually two small doors that meet in the middle of the doorway and usually have a lot of glass.

Porsche-poor 11-13-2013 11:06 AM

French doors are a style of double doors here in the US.

GH85Carrera 11-13-2013 11:11 AM
