Bummer! Totally a bust then. There used to be a place in Seattle where one could get bags of the things that were not folder just flat round cookies. Great for dipping in tea.

Morning all, today is 'territory day' (celebration of self government as a sortof state, but not really a state). Anyway, no public holiday but WW3 starts tonight as firework are selling today for one day only. Although what you buy has to be exploded tonight, we's gunna have things exploding every night for about the next three months.
We do get a public holiday on Friday though as its our local show day (a bit like a fair I think). |

not a thing wrong with orange. In fact we are encouraged to wear it while hunting so as to make us easier to shoot at err I mean see and not shoot at.

Evening Y'all,
One down three to go, I can't wait till friday, I love the 4th and yes I am one of those that likes to blow stuff up. We come back from the pro show, I usually have at least eight people piled up in the bed of the truck since parking is a premium here, and we start our own fun. We sit right at the launching pad for the pro stuff. Sit up and watch them go up, lay down and watch the go off.

I never got much into fireworks as a kid... It seemed we were always in a burn ban so it was only every 2nd or 3rd year that we'd get to shoot them. I usually would stock up on good smoke bombs for paintball and call if good.

The Stick

Remember one year at grandma's the local Jaycees fireworks stand in the Walmart parking lot was selling 4 for 1. My dad gave me 8 bucks to get fireworks and I came home with 4 grocery sacks full. It was a small town and it was a good thing I was able to get so many firecrackers and bottle rockets cause all the local neighborhood kids had a fireworks war. We were throwing firecrackers, shooting bottle rockets and even firing off nigger chasers (that's what they were called, big bottle rockets without a stick, didn't aim very well, but caused a lot of panic.) at each other. The only thing off limits was roman candles, m80s and cherry bombs. It was gloriously fun and amazingly nobody got hurt and nothing got set on fire.
As part of the prep you would take an 800 string of firecrackers and separate them into singles and put them in a paper grocery sack. That's what you carried as a main ammo bag. Well, this pop bottle rocket went right into my paper sack. Fsssst, pow pow, pow, then I dropped the bag and ran. The bottle rocket set off the 800 some odd loose firecrackers almost all at once. It made a white ball about 2 ft in diameter that was less and less dense as it dispersed lit firecrackers in all directions out as far as 25 ft. It was like you see at the pro fireworks displays only this was on the ground in the middle of my grandmothers driveway. it didn't last very long but it sure was cool. Tried several times to do a repeat performance but just never had anything light off almost all at once like that. Oh and I swept up all blown up paper in grandma's driveway before we went home.
