I just saw where the same American dude won the hot dog eating contest. 61 hot dogs. wow. The other day we went to Sam's and they have the same hotdogs. I ate two and was stuffed. I can't imagine 61 dogs.

Joey "Jaws" Chestnut won Nathan's. It's his 8th year running. Proposed just before the contest started. 2nd place ate 56. Women's champ ate 34.

I had just two Nathan's hot dogs yesterday. Not very competitive.

Yeterday was following my nephew's kids on the trails around the farm, they were in a Polaris 4 wheeler and I was in my Rover. Was showing I could go anywhere they could and their pickup trucks couldn't. Rover was able to go someplace the Polaris couldn't. They wrecked the polaris. Found out today it was $970 damage to the Polaris in parts to fix it. Told my brother that would have totaled my Rover, LOL.

Morning Y'all,
That was a fun day, I love the 4th. Our little town had a killer show last night and we had over 8,000 cars in town so I am figuring at least 12,000 people. Our population is 500. Went over to a friends farm afterwords and set off a few dozen more mortars. We left when the people of altered mind (every one but me) decided to drop one into the tube upside down.

Think maybe a little too much beer was consumed while doing this brake job.

That is suspension, NOT brakes.

What a beautiful day, too bad it involved a tractor

GH85Carrera 07-05-2014 12:22 PM

I got up early and went to the garage and started on the valve adjustment. I worked for a while and the changed hats from mechanic to yard boy. Got the yard done and changed back to mechanic hat. All the valves are adjusted. Yea!

All that is left is put the valve covers back on, the plugs and wires and filler up with oil.

I had to stop to get cleaned up so I can watch F1 qualifying. Then I have to make a batch of home made ice cream. We have friends coming over.

Rick (or anyone else), what is an "AC Blast?" I took Mrs. Noah's DD Honda in for a routine oil change (we've got a deal where we get the first 2 years of old changes for free from the dealership where we purchased the vehicle). Of course, the service advisor always tries to upsell. He mentioned a few things, but really pushed the "AC Blast." It would reduce our AC temps by 10 degrees, he proclaimed. What the heck is an AC Blast?

Rick V 07-05-2014 12:35 PM

An AC blast as I understand it would be a service designed to separate your wallet from it's money. It is a chemical that they insert into your ac that, and I am writing this from memory, is made of the slickest material on the planet (lawyers blood presumably) that will allow the freon to travel through the system faster and easier.
I refuse to take part in all this crap they require us to try and sell at work so I am not up on the latest snake oil version of mechanic in a can.

GH85Carrera 07-05-2014 01:48 PM

Yea, I would bet Honda designed the system to work fine as is. I would not be surprised to find out it is not even Honda approved.

GH85Carrera 07-05-2014 02:46 PM

Stijn!!

Dang this ice cream does not want to to freeze. I have been out here for an hour trying to get it to freeze up.

Noah930 07-05-2014 02:47 PM

Don't let it go to waste. Eat it.

Yup. Sounds like a scam to me. I'd bet youd have as good or better results just washing the condenser out really good. Idk about in SoCal, but our cars in OK would get to not cooling well and a good wash of the condenser to clean out the bugs and dust would do the trick.

Morning all

I'm with Sid. I'll 'blast' the outdoor units of our splits annually with the hose. It gives them an instant efficiency boost.

porsche4life 07-05-2014 04:14 PM

Guesss who gets to play plumber? We've got a toilet with a wonky flush valve. Its been filling slow as sin, so might as well replace the fill valve, while I'm in there. ;)

Damn hard AZ water plays heck on things in the water...

Outback Porsche 07-05-2014 04:21 PM

Got the same problem with hard water out here Sid. I've got to break out my 'plumbers crack' every few months. Have fun.

Rick V 07-05-2014 05:06 PM

I hate plumbing, that is why I left the profession and went to work on cars. Yeah it seemed like a good idea at the time

Porsche-poor 07-05-2014 07:03 PM

Yard work is just as bad. I think its the "work" part.

GH85Carrera 07-05-2014 07:56 PM

The ice cream finally froze up. It was good.

HHI944 07-05-2014 08:06 PM
