I keep waiting for the rich uncle thing. Unfortunately my father was an only child and my mother only had one brother and he died 40 years ago. It will have to be like a soap opera and be the long lost twin brother that no one every mentioned before.

Maybe I can win the lottery!

Would it help if I bought a lottery ticket? Probably not.

My credit Union has a contest that they pick a random member and refund the next transaction on the checking account. I won this month. I was refunded $3.99 for the monthly Pandora payment. Whoo hoooo I am a winner. That 4 bucks will really help me out.

Good Morning.

So, the day after Christmas my brother that has MS, Tom is going in for brain surgery. He has a nerve disorder that is causing pain and paralysis of the left side of his face. They are going to cut a hole and put a sponge between the nerves and his brain.

My other brother, Bob wants to visit for the Christmas holidays. He called and asked if he could come spend the holiday's at my house. Found out the reason he called and asked me is because Tom and his wife had already told him he couldn't stay with them. Tom's wife is already stressed out enough over all the Christmas festivities and Tom's operation she doesn't want the extra stress of Bob staying with them. He can be quite aggravating.

The last time he came to "visit Mom" he stayed with Tom for a week and came over to visit Mom just twice for 15 minutes each time. While he was visiting her he constantly asked her if she could remember this or that, reminding her of her condition. Just the thing you are NOT supposed to do to a dimentia sufferer.

Merry Freakin Christmas eh?

On the good side of things, since Mom fell and is slow recovering doctor approved in-home care coming out. They haven't done the evaluation yet so don't know what kind of help they will be giving me.

That would be my luck, I would never win and be refunded any high dollar item, but hey it is still a warm and fuzzy

That sounds like a good plan ;)

I bought a lotto ticket last week on a whim, just a cheap quick pick. It was $30M after all and I had the 5hits with work. The young girl asked me if I wanted to join in their shop syndicate and I politely declined with a response that contained the words 'I know about math'.

Her smile was nice.

Habanero hot sauce - that stuff leaves a parting gift that keeps on giving

GH85Carrera 12-19-2014 06:56 AM

Yea, I consider the lottery a tax on math impaired people.

I just never win anything of value. I have been to Porsche Parade 14 times and they always give away some fantastic door prizes. The most I have won is a child size t-shirt that is only useful as a rag to me. Oh, I "won" some black baseball style caps. Nothing of any value.

Some people attend and win a set of tires every couple of years.

Rick V 12-19-2014 07:01 AM

I don't think I have ever won anything, I mean not even a hat, I am just not lucky in that way

RKDinOKC 12-19-2014 08:52 AM

Won a set of Koni reds for the 928 last month. Cost twice as much as the shocks I won for the lady to Mom sit for me to go. That's still better than making the event and not winning anything.

Ahhhhhhh life in a small town.
I was down at the shop where my son works and the phone rings, my son answered it and I can tll by his voice and the fact he started moving fast there was something up. He goes into the office and comes out with a pump shotgun and asks if I want to go for a ride. Ooooooooookay. So as we are going up the road he is explaining that there is an old veteran who has someone trying to break into his house. Wonderful, so we roll into the driveway and the vet. is in the front yard and some punk is having words with him. My son and I bail out of the car (I left the shotgun on the seat) and the guy starts walking off. Yeah that didn't go well. The cops finally showed up and gave the kid some new bracelets. You have got to love living in an area like this, you call the law for back up.

Merry Christmas Rick!

Tweeze, there would be more chance of being hit by a flying pig knuckle than us moving to a climate like that again. Not that I don't mind visiting my in laws in the desert, but living in a place like that isn't going to happen. Even if it is cooler in AZ. Also, I happen to like playing in the **** and I like small town country life.

Congrats, Rick. (On the job opportunities.) Best of luck in finding a good fit on your trip out West.

Sounds like a nice small town, Rick.

Hmmmmm why do I smell like fuel? Oh yeah I went back down to my sons shop and they put me to work changing a fuel pump in an old Ford truck. Oh well they treat my son well so I don't mind helping out

RKDinOKC 12-19-2014 12:24 PM

Welp, It's past 2pm here on FRIDAY, getting really close to DGAF.

RKDinOKC 12-19-2014 12:30 PM

Wow, seen these, $99.

The geek in me wants one. I have TBs of network storage so don't really have a use for it.

flipper35 12-19-2014 01:13 PM

I saw this and I could swear I could hear a lovely woman screaming "Jeeffferrryyyy! as it went airborn.

I think I heard that as well.

We've got that too! Check out some of the smaller places in the white mountains. Payson and Pinetop come to mind! Skiing near pinetop too!

Since you smell like it already, want to come put the new fuel pump on the bug? It came today...

Rick V 12-19-2014 01:28 PM

I think you are right
