My old rover is under 30 per year
The lotus under 40

The new rover worth a fraction of either of the others......140

Stijn!!

That is cheap. My cars cost $20 bucks per year to register each. I do splurge and spend an additional personalized tag for each of my toys. That is another 20 something per year.

porsche4life 01-13-2015 09:20 PM

If it makes you feel better glen, I payed more than my share on the escape... Went to tag it and they asked if I paid sales tax in OK.... No I was an out of state buyer. So I had to pay it here in AZ, plus title tax, plus registration, plus.... $2100 freaking dollars by the time it was all over!!!!

RKDinOKC 01-13-2015 09:52 PM

Noticed someone had peeled the current sticker off my tag, costed $5 to get another sticker.

Noah930 01-13-2015 09:56 PM

My 20+ year-old bikes cost $90-some each to register per year. (And honestly, how much wear and tear do they impart on the road system?) The 911 is something like $160. The minivan is > $200, but still dropping annually. The bikes and P-car are old enough that their registrations aren't going down anymore.

Good thing you didn't win that Ferrari in November, huh?

porsche4life 01-13-2015 10:33 PM

Its used so I would have been golden... No sales tax on Private Party sales of used vehicles in AZ. They make it up on new ones apparently. Guess my next "new" car will be bought private party, low miles...

Morning Y'all,
S is falling from the sky

RKDinOKC 01-14-2015 03:23 AM

Mertnin,

None of the S stuff here

Rick V 01-14-2015 03:33 AM

We are getting a light dusting with a little ice. Azzy and Jim are going to get it worse than here.

pete3799 01-14-2015 05:10 AM

No S here. Blue sky ................but it's -13*
Never got above 0 yesterday.

GH85Carrera 01-14-2015 05:15 AM

Morning all.

Back before Sid's time the license tags for cars in Oklahoma was stupid expensive for new cars. I remember a guy in the club bought a brand new 930 and his tag title and tax added almost 6 grand to the car price. I heard a story that I have never seen verified that some reporter went to the state legislature and took a picture of the tags in the Senate and House parking lots. Many of the tags were "farm truck" on a sedan or commercial tags for some side business. Several members had out of state tags and other schemes to avoid the crazy tag prices. The reporter put the story together with information on all the members tags. The story was never published because they took up tag reform all of a sudden and the tags became very reasonable.

I suspect that is a BS story but it always sounded good.

Tags in Va are 35 a year, add 10 for personalized and such but the taxes are insane. It still costs me a grand a year for a 13 year old Mercedes. On the flip side Lanna and Peggy are both free due to age. I really hope they don't look back at the older cars that are actually woth money that they are not taxed for

flipper35 01-14-2015 06:41 AM

Our tags aren't' bad here compared to IA or CA.

Azzy, our daughter can shoot well and has her own deer rifle. She can shoot a hand spoon well enough to roll a coke can at 20 yards. I figure when she is a teenager she will have enough experience to be pretty comfortable with them.

No s*** here and it has warmed up again. We are at 11* as I came to work. Another month and it is almost shorts weather.

GH85Carrera 01-14-2015 07:16 AM

We have been below normal temperature all year. Not one minute has been above the average "normal" temperature for the date. That is supposed to change tomorrow. We get to see the sun and mid 50s even on the weekend! :D

porsche4life 01-14-2015 07:19 AM

Mid 50s? Brrrr!

Sitting at 45 now, should hit nearly 70 today.

azzarule 01-14-2015 07:52 AM

stuff was falling rom the sky this morning and overnight, only about 2" at our house and surrounding area.

Steve went to work, school cancelled for the day WTF, so I "volunteered" to be the one who stayed in bed, and supervise the midget, :), someone has gat to do it!!

I know, I know, a bit woozie, but the sleep in was lovely, spent an hour on the treadmill, light breakfast, then a coffee, life is good!

azzarule 01-14-2015 07:55 AM

ps

daytime tv sucks, but I am trying to stay out of the kitchen, although I have already put on the Beof Bourguignon for dinner. Bored now.

Next time I buy a car, I'm registering it at Sid's place in AZ.

flipper35 01-14-2015 08:23 AM

Most anytime TV sucks. Just sayin'.

Oh, it has started the white frozen precipitation now.

I bet Sid has the largest temperature swing from low to high most days.
