Mornin and TGIF!

Some lightly frosted roads in CT made for some fun commute-drifting this morning.

Almost got out of hand, I nearly spilled my coffee ;)

Rick V 01-23-2015 05:25 AM

Spilled coffee is grounds for an ass whippin'

GH85Carrera 01-23-2015 05:48 AM

Rick, just so you know the crappy weather heading your way is not from Oklahoma. It came through Amarillo and dumped 12 inches, then went south of us through Baja-Oklahoma on the way to you. We did not see any frozen stuff and just a 1/3 of an inch of rain.

Rick V 01-23-2015 05:52 AM

Yeah the rain is scheduled to arrive this afternoon, change to frozen crapolla tonight and be mostly crappy tomorrow, we get a break on sunday just in time for the second barrage on monday.
I hate winter, just in case I failed to mention that in the past

Just 56 days until spring!

How many days until Spring 2015?

Rick V 01-23-2015 06:15 AM

Problem is spring here in the mid-atlantic is a total crap shoot and proves mother nature really needs to "get some"
We go from 70deg to 7 inches of S*** in a twelve hour span

Welp, Mom woke me up a 4am asking where the cat was, dang it. Had to explain we gave him away and why, again.

Showed her pics of cats on craigslist and all the shelters in the area. She really lit up on the pics of seal point siamese, (the brown ones).

So, Instead of taking pot luck on the temperament of a kitten, going to register for adoption with the closest Siamese Rescue, Fort Worth TX.

They claim if approved for adoption they match the cat's temperament to your situation.

I should get a personality matched cat for my mom...

Are depressed, bi-polar, disrespectful, and arrogant cat personality traits.

Are you kidding, that is the norm for cats.

911SauCy 01-23-2015 07:13 AM

Not a cat owner...that's why LOL

Also why I try to avoid the mother at all costs

God bless

On a more positive note, got the 928 off to the mechanic to fix the lack of power steering.

911SauCy 01-23-2015 07:58 AM

have 'em boost it "while they're in there"

RKDinOKC 01-23-2015 08:25 AM

There is a very nicely done twin turbo setup. Seem to remember it being in the $12,000 range. That stuff kinda ruins the value of the car though.

Got the GTS for $40K a few years ago, Haggerty says it's worth $70K now.

A very nice supercharged 928 GTS sold for $35K last year.

Another guy I know spent $33K bore/stroke, Cams, ITBs, tweak and tune for 635 rwhp no boost or NO2. Says he loves it but wouldn't do it again.

GH85Carrera 01-23-2015 08:27 AM

Yea, just leave it fairly stock. You have plenty of HP.

flipper35 01-23-2015 08:43 AM

You know, I wasn't sure I would see a car guy type that. Ever.

GH85Carrera 01-23-2015 08:57 AM

For a street car that he will not be going to the track with his car is fast. I have ridden in it many times.

For a small block Cheby there are an infinite variations to get more power in a reliable way. Forced injection done to a 928 is not real common. It would cost a LOT and never be as reliable as stock.

I have long believed if you want a faster car just buy a newer model and get factory engineering. There are no newer 928s but many long years of faster 911s.

flipper35 01-23-2015 09:07 AM

I agree with the leave it stock part. It was the second sentence that was oddly phrased.

GH85Carrera 01-23-2015 09:14 AM

I guess it comes from me owning a 30 year old car that has just 200 HP from the factory. More power would be OK in some situations. I have just never felt the need to swap reliability for HP. I can get to illegal speeds on the interstate in short order with just 200 HP. For just a huge pile of cash I could send my car to RUF and have him make a Yellowbird 200 MPH car that is useless HP except on a track.

flipper35 01-23-2015 09:19 AM

But would you do with 140 instead of 200? It was the "plenty" that caught me off guard. Plus I was mostly giving you a hard time. :)

I think the little 100hp four banger mom and dad had would run over 100mph pretty easily.

GH85Carrera 01-23-2015 09:31 AM

Richard is right around 350 HP in the 928.
