Good Morning!
On occasion I've relished mornings...like when on vacation and can enjoy a quiet majestic sunrise. Example: one cool summer morning I woke early and went out on the apartment balcony to leisurely enjoy a coffee and read some on a good book waiting for my hosts to wake up. As the sun came up the glittering dew covered landscaping of the complex was just beautiful and somewhere nearby, someone very good was softly playing piano. That was a very good morning. This morning I'm just thrilled Pepper puppy got up with me, followed me outside and she immediately took care of busines. Then she followed me right back in and after some priase and a couple of treats has gone right back to sleep. Major puppy accomplishment!

Good Morning folks.
Good Pepper, good girl. The internet speeds of today are amazing. We have a client that wants us to fly a project that was done by some other company and they did not like the final product. The best way to show us what they want and don't want is to show us the final product as delivered by the other company. Here at work we obviously have a business account with a local cable company for internet access. They have the speed restricted. The same company provides my home internet but the package I am on is FAST. The customer's project file is a zip file that is 8.1 GB. We tried to download here at work and after an hour it timed out and failed to download. Last night at home I downloaded 8.1 GB in 30 minutes. It takes 10 minutes to copy that file to the thumb drive at USB 2.0 speeds. That just blows me away, 8 gig in 30 minutes is screaming fast. I remember when we finally got dial all the way up to 56K that one MB took 12 minutes and we all thought that was fast. It was compared to the 300 baud modem I started with. It would take 67.5 days to download 8.1 GB at 56K. Of course I did not have a hard drive big enough to hold 8 gig for a good many years later. Now I have a cell phone with 64 gig. That just blows me away.

It sucks for business internet to be so expensive to get fast access. The down side of the fast home access is that the upload speed is severely limited, AND you can't have a fixed IP address.
In my neighborhood the phone wires in the neighborhood are cheap low twists per foot wire. The fastest I could get was 36.6K instead of 56K. When I was hacking on my old Apple IIc the screen scrolled the program text at 9600 baud. Got to were I could read at 9600 baud!

Back when we moved into our current house I was still on dial up. The fastest AT&T dial-up was 36.6K. I switched to Cox digital phone line way back then and it instantly went to 56.6K and never slowed down. I was real happy to kill the dial up account when cable internet came along. They have increased my internet speed many times.

OK, if you can't make coffee decent enough to drink black, you should not be making it for the coffee shop. Just sayin'.

Was the first Mac in the area to get Cox Cable Internet. They sent out 8 installers and each re-did the settings on my Mac 3 times to learn how. That was back before DHCP, you had to actually enter all the IP, router, and mask info in the TCP/IP stack.

Remember spending a day with my Grandad when I was about 4. Went around to all the cafes, diners, grocery stores, and pharmacy's in the small town he lived in for coffee. That was his social network.

There are many that actually have good coffee. If you need to add stuff to it to drink it you are doing it wrong. I can drink it black or with flavors in it. Sometimes for dessert I have a flavored creamer. First cup in the morning is always black. Of course, I make it when i get to work. My co-worker buys it and the Bunn machine as long as I make it.

I used to relly like it for dipping toast when I was young. Strawberry rhubarb jelly on buttered toast dipped into a cup that was 1/3 cup milk, 4 spoonfuls of sugar and coffee.
Grew out if it for a while but then had a server go down while the heads of the company were out of town and it was all our financial and POS stuff. The station next door had free refills on coffee if you brought your cup back in. Made the day go a little better. Started drinking it more regularly after that. Mostly black, unless it is bad. Same with a steak. No steak sauce unless you give me a crap steak. Oh, I don't like beer. Generally don't care for any drinks with alcohol. Rick would be very safe at our house.

I only drink my coffee black. I have never seen the point of coffee so bad it needs a bunch of flavors or milk and cream and sugar to make it drinkable.
I had never had any Charbucks coffee until we went to the Portland Parade back in 2006. They were a sponsor so it was everywhere and free. I tried to drink it but is just sucks too bad. I took a few sips and threw my cup in the trash can. It was 1/2 full of coffee and cups. I had to drive to a local Burger King to get some drinkable coffee. At the Savannah, GA parade the hotel was all happy and pround to provide free Starbucks er Charbucks in the room. I even called the front desk and asked for anything except that. They sent up 4 packages of the crap. I stopped at a local grocery store and bought a small can of Folgers and some filters.

I drink my coffee black most of the time. Lately I've been putting condensed milk in it too, sweet, but not too sweet. At home I make it in the french press or the Viet drip coffee maker.

I like my coffee like I like my women Bold, Black and hot. (Beth hates that joke)
I detest Charbucks and Beth will stop by a lot, I will drop her off and swing by the gas station and get a decent cup of coffee, then walk into Charbucks with my coffee. I had one of the employees tell me one time I couldn't do that, to which I said sure I can want to watch me do it again?

I don't drink regular coffee but I'll drink espresso...the only problem is I drink it about 8-10oz at a time.....and if I start a day drinking it, I'll drink it all day......that leads to twitching and drooling...
