Put the cams in when I rebuild the drivetrain. Was a little disappointed in the added power, but think it was because the rings were already going south.

Isn't 10.4 to 1 enough compression.

I lucked into the headers last year for $500 coated, or probably wouldn't have sprang for them. Would like to dyny stock exhaust, and then the headers and see the real difference.

The turbo guys are making 750 rwhp with no problems on the 928 on a stock 5 liter motor They are a work of art.

They are currently working on a more efficient intercooler.

The hot pipes are inconel.

Don't blame ya. Not keeping much down anyway. Some soda crackers and seven up is about all I can handle.

Reading about and watching the videos on the 928 Turbo guys, they have really got their stuff together. The are running the boost pressures based on the cylinder pressures. The run about 14 psi until the cams and cylinder pressures start dropping off then raise the boost up to 17 psi. And that's with a stock 10.4 compression ratio. They are building their twin turbo to run on pump gas and be super reliable. They have been building them for 8 years and none have cratered yet.

They had a whole video on just how they fabbed the instercoolers into the bumper covers to look normal.

To bad they guys want $25K for the motor build up and install.

They are getting a bit more horsepower than the superchargers or strokers though.

All of that is "just money"

It is mind boggling the number of things that can be done to a 911. If I had the unlimited bucks I would love to have a Ruf Yellowbird.

Ruf CTR - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I think that is about the max evolution of my model of 911. A curb weight of only 2,535 pounds (1,150 kg) combined with the CTR's high output of 469hp gave the model 0-60 mph in 3.7 seconds, 0-100 mph in 7.8 seconds, 0-125 mph in 11.4 seconds and a top speed of 211 mph (340 km/h).

All I need is a spare 300K or so.

aI've personally drooled both on the Yellobird, AND the RUF boxster update. I think the boxster update was only $35K plus a Boxster S. 3.6 in a boxster would be pretty fast.

I remember some tv show had a supercar shoot out. They invited this one guy because he had a Carrera GT. but he brought his Turbo 911 instead. He would not let them see anything about it. He said he was not going to bring a knife to a gun fight. His turbo won. It made the tech art turbo and the 99F turbo which were the other fastest cars look like they were stopped on the final straight. Just ran off and left them. He said it was his mom's grocery getter. One of the hosts knocked on the quarter panel and said hmmm carbon fiber.

At the Hershey Parade I was invited to a local Porsche shop that had a reception with Alois Ruf and the original Yellowbird. I got to touch it and sit in it and I bought a DVD of the Yellowbird screaming around the Nurburgring. He signed my copy of the DVD.

He met his wife in Oklahoma City at a one of our local War Bonnet Region events. He came to town as an invited guest to one of our Tech Sessions and he fell in love while he was here. The lady that was the manager of the Marriott is now his wife. She was the person I had to deal with for the meeting rooms at the hotel.

He had the original Yellowbird at the autocross doing some demo runs. That thing squats and GOES. I so wanted a ride.

Yeah don't remember his name but a guy here in town has the RUF automatic manual transmission. Think his wife is related to RUF's wife. Think it was Harlin Wright.

We got to see the yellowbird at a 944 gathering at the RUF Center in Dallas.

One good thing about being sick. I don't have to sit thru the consultants mucking about trying to get the Exchange hybrid environment to work. They are going to mess with our spam filter today, So I supposed everything will be broken by the end of the day. The spam filter is just a relay and doesn't have anything to do with the mailflow thru the hybrid exchange environment. That's like saying they have to fix everyone elses mail servers to get ours to work. arggg.

I don't understand why all the Microsoft documentation says to use Exchange 2013 to and a special management tool to manage the 2007, 2010, and 2013 to Office 365 move, but these guys are using Exchange 2010 and a whole bunch of shell scripts AND having all kinds of mail flow problems. (because it's better?)

My name at work is now Fester Bestertester because my regular email and user name has been migrated and does not work. FOR ANYTHING and I cannot log in to anything either.

Yea, Dr. Wright is an interesting fellow. He has that one of a kind Ruf that he recently had painted up in Guthrie by Tim. Harlan has many stories about his days as a track worker in SCCA during lots of different endurance races. He is a neurosurgeon and I hope to never need his services!

Richard, hope you start feeling better.

Rick, I don't think you are thinking big enough for the replacemnt horn. I think this is what you need. For vessels over 75m in length.

Model D-2 Air Horn | Kahlenberg

My Cobra has a little beep beep horn. It is near useless when the car is running.

I tell ya Glen, Avons. True vintage racing rain tire. You probably only get 12-15k miles on them though.

I just looked for Any Avon tire on tire rack. The only tires they make in a 15 inch are too wide for the rear of my car much less for the fronts. 255s on the rear might just fit with the right tweaks but I doubt it, no way can I fit those on the front without huge fenders. I really need staggered tire sizes anyway.

They wouldn't have them at Tire Rack. You would have to look at Roger Kraus or the east coast distributor.

Thought part of the Porsche Classics thing is they are supposed to have tire recommendations for all the older cars.

Pepper was chewing away on a toy, then suddenly barked, jump up, and ran outside. Think she had to go.
