Oh great.. Had an eye floater appear yesterday so went to eye doc. Said the veins in the back of my eye are a little swollen. Gave me a shot to stop it. After lunch today it started looking like my vision in that eye had been peppered with tiny gray dots everywhere. Dots started getting darker an lots more of them so went back to eye doc. Those blood veins are hemoraging and because of the medicine yesterday it is spreading all over in tiny little dots. Doc says that is good and they will clear up, I hope so cause it is like look thru a grey and black snow storm. Says worst case if they don't clear up they can remove hem surgically, but doesn't think that will be necessary
Not a good past couple of days. |

Stijn!!
Geeky alpha nerd. Present and ready!
I really I don't wanna sound like the Subway dude but I needed some 12 year old girl hands today. Some of the connections are a real challenge with my giant big ol hands. Getting all 8 sticks of RAM inserted around the ginormous CPU cooler fan was TOUGH. |
I have only a little touch up painting left to do. In theory, a three day holiday weekend ought to be plenty of time to get it all finished. Watch me find a way to put it off so I can work late on it instead.

Rick, HIVAC work is a good steady gig. And only a few grand in tools.

The thing that sucks about HVAC is working on heaters when it is cold or ac when it is hot. Don't know about the geothermal thing tho.

How are your eyeballs, Richard?

Left eye is like looking through a black veil of tiny dots that moves around with where I am looking. i'd say about 30% screen. Makes that eye hurt from eye strain if I read for very long Aspirin helps a little. Much more annoying looking at light or white objects, keeping the house dark. Would be much easier if I weren't left eye dominant. Keep focusing on the danged dots. Doc didn't tell me how long it would take to clear, next appointment is 2 weeks. The medical term is Vitreous Hemorrhage.

Shortly after we bought it they came out with the lightning fast 8 MHz machine. I just did the inflation calculator and that old IMB in 1983 dollars adjusted for inflation cost us just under 12 grand in 2015 dollars. Heck we bought a IBM PC that came with DOS 1.1. and it was 5 grand as well. And it had zero commercial software. You boot that puppy up and you saw A:\. The boss took it back and traded it in on a Systems 36. It at least had software to do accounting. We had to hire a lady to program it to do what we wanted. It used 8 inch floppies! No hard drive at all. 32 years ago I knew the future computers would be faster and better but I could not have imagined 128 Gig of RAM and 6 cores and 12 threads. 3840 x 2160 with billions of colors on a 28 inch display and HD sound. We don't use the sound at all and may or may not even put speakers on it. It has the ports to hook up 10 displays. |
Okay so I fix myself an omelet and ate it about 30 minutes ago...
Filled it with some chopped tomato, onion, cheese and some serano pepper. It was tasty good. Now the weird part, 30 minutes later my mouth and tongue starts feeling hot from the peppers. 30 Minutes later? |

Definitely the heat from serano peppers.

I had one of the header style springs break on the garage door on the house but it wasn't too bad since it is paired with another one and the opener could still lift it. We used the long bar to tension it when we replaced it. The one in the detached garage broke and it was one of the long ones above the rails and it was a lot easier to replace and tension properly. That said, I like the header coils a lot better in the garage. |
