Rick one of my brother's favorite stories is at deer camp, one of the dumb drunks (any other kind?) that tripped on his bow quiver and stuck a broad-head up under his ribs and was bleeding like a stuck pig. He got the bleeding to stop with pressure and after a while decided he needed to sterilize it with a splash of the whiskey he was drinking.

He said in the movies John Wayne would grit his teeth and make a light sucking sound as he dosed the wound. My brother and his friends were kind of worried about the guy and asked if they should just break camp and take him to the hospital. He decided to go ahead and dose the wound with whiskey, both internal and external.

My brother said the were sure the dummy was OK when he let out a scream and started running around holding the wound and screaming profanity. After 30 minutes everyone ELSE was laughing so hard they could not catch their breath from watching his reaction to the pain of his own doings.

He said that whiskey on a open wound hurts way more than John Wayne makes it look like. Well duh.

Oh yeah, And if the doctor says it's not that bad to take some ibprofin and it will be all better, DON"T SLUG THE DOC! It could make it hurt worse.

The only Christmas decoration I put up is a wreath on the eave over my garage door.



Re-painted the bow last year. Got some solar powered lights to stick on wreath this year.

Richard you decorate like me, but only if I am feelin' it, I could just skip the entire season and wouldn't miss it, well except for the grandkids.
I actually slept a few hours last night, I figured after a couple of days sleep would have to make itself known.
I am so glad it is friday.

Guess it's about time to start making my chip juice I give to everyone for Christmas, Home made Mango Salsa. Usually make gallons of the stuff. Enough that I don't want any after all the taste testing. Though it is pretty good on some eggs in the mornin. Gotta start now to make sure the local grocery store has enough canned mangos, cause I ain't peelin that many, they are a chore to peel.

Yay, Friday! Off this morning for a dental appointment. I got to sleep late. Whoo hoo!

We probably will only do a very minimal amount of Christmas decorating at our NoVA apartment. It's too small a place and most of our holiday decorations are at SoCal house. Ho ho ho.

morning all. yes thank God it Friday. Except the part about a 3 hour mandatory meeting at work. Could be good could be bad. Maybe I'll get fired!

Our manufacturing and assembly emplyees don't even come in of Fridays any more. They voted to go to a four day work week. At least I think they are still doing the four day work week thing. I know it sure messes with the holiday vacation thing.
