That said I have nothing but respect for everyone that has been in service for our country and would be proud to buy lunch anytime.

New spoon should be at the FFL tomorrow sometime. The .22 slide, mag and match barrel arrived last night.

One thing about Overhaulin' is that you can always go back to decent rims and tires. The rest of the car usually isn't too bad, workmanship notwithstanding.

Saw the requirements for FBI quals with a pistol. If you train more than once a month, how do yo miss a full size silhouette at 25 yards? I know it is timed, but it comes out to over a second per shot but you have to draw from a holster. It was on another forum someone that went through the quals but isnt an FBI employee.

Ooooh, new spoon! What'd you get?

Yeah, a lot of the LEO quals are garbage.

M1911. Factory says sub 1" 5 shot group at 25 yards. I am hoping to hit a 8x10 steel at 100 yards. Hoppes # 9 good for the rails or should I get some FP10 or something different?

The roller hinge for the Honda is secured with just 2 bolts. The tricky part is releasing the cables from it. I've seen videos showing the dismantling of the interior trim panels to gain access but others that show it being done not going inside. Placing a floor jack with a pad under the door to hold it seems to be common.

It's good to have a buddy willing to help sometimes.

I mowed the side yard for the guy that welded up our trampoline frame. He never trims around his trees and a traffic sign so I did that as well. I figure we are even.

The guy that posted wasn't LEO but went through the quals but has been to other camps like Gunsite.

My daughter can clean a Texas Star at 20 yards I think she could make it through those quals. 10 shots in 15 second at 25 yards is the longest range. First it starts with 3 shots in 5 seconds at 3 yards from the holster. I am sure the FBI guys do OK. you have to get 60% on to qualify and 87% to qualify as an instructor.

In drills with the laser trainer and camera dad was just over 3 seconds from low ready on a 6" target. I can't imagine he would take 2 seconds to draw from a holster and he is in his mid-seventies.

Indy 500 tickets sold out and didn't get any. Good thing wasn't planning to go.

Morning all, raining here also. Must be a world wide raindemic?

Bats are out tonight.

and the frogs

and the crickets

GH85Carrera 05-06-2016 08:04 PM

We have one toad looking for a girlfriend out at the pond. I hope we have lots of bats flying around eating skeeters. Not many crickets.

Jolly Amaranto 05-06-2016 08:14 PM

I see fire flies outside my window.

Oh Haha 05-06-2016 08:35 PM

I just went out with the dog and it was silent. Guess the critters are in bed.

Jim Richards 05-06-2016 09:00 PM

The rain brought out the snails today. They're quiet too, unless you step on them. Then they're crunchy/squishy sounding.

My neighbors are the type that don't take no for an answer. We came home from ikea with stuff strapped to the roof and they were outside. Came walking up and asked hemming we needed help. I said no since dad was there to help. They just stood there until unstrapped everything and then unloaded it and offered to take it up stairs and help put it together!

If I mention needing a tool it just appears if one of them have it to loan me. Of course I do the same for them. We take them food on occasion and they do the same. And this isn't just one neighbor, this is 3 of the 5 neighbors on our block! The other two we see often and are friendly with too. We love our street!

The guys are just hanging around to gawk at your pretty missus. The wiminz are hanging around to make sure their blokes don't gawk too long. :D

Good Day, eh?

Outback Porsche 05-07-2016 04:32 AM

Meh, crappy Saturday.

It's been pi55ing down all day, and I spent most of it at work.

Now I'm about ready for the fart sack.

RKDinOKC 05-07-2016 04:55 AM

Am so glad I'm no longer in charge of network security at the company.

They no longer have a DMZ for the pubic servers, a security nightmare.

The worst of it...because of lack of DMZ they have the firewall setup so it sends alert emails every time it sees a potential hack. Potential hacks are to web servers what junk email is to email servers. It's like receiving an alert message every time someone sends a message that might be spam. ARGGGH

They added me to the alerts message list because the Mac ftp server started receiving hack attempts for Wordpress and the Joomla content management systems. Those aren't even on the server!

Went in a turned off the "file not found" messages and tada! The firewall no longer sends alerts for my Mac servers. The bad is they won't take me off the firewall alerts mailing list so I receive a message every two or three minutes from the attempts to hack our Windows servers.

Good thing I'm smart. Put a rule on my incoming messages to check the firewall messages for the mac server IP addresses, if they aren't about a mac server they go directly to my deleted items. Since it's a server side rule I don't get a new email notice on my phone every 3 minutes.

And they treat me like I don't know what I'm doing.

RKDinOKC 05-07-2016 06:12 AM

It's the WEEKEND!!! Even if you're retired, Jeff.

Jim Richards 05-07-2016 06:25 AM

It's still Saturday!

RKDinOKC 05-07-2016 06:57 AM

Too bad there aren't still any good cartoons on TV

Decided to not drive to Dallas for breakfast. Maybe if the 928 was driveable.
