OK, I like the hot stuff but my wife grew some peppers last year and I ate one out of the garden. It was like swallowing a nuclear rod.

So, we have a management meeting today and I am sitting next to the CEO. That's OK, we get along fine. She hands me a paper and I look at it confused. She said "Sorry, I handed that to you like I expected you to just know what to do with it. Can't you read my mind or have ESP or something". I looked at her with a very serious look on my face and said "I was drawing a blank". She looks at me a few seconds and says "That was really bad". Then laughed.

See, this is the problem with women as bosses. Some time down the track they start treating you like a husband.

Yea, when one asks a woman what is wrong and she says "nothing" in a short quick burst she is lying to you. Somehow you have committed a horrible wrong. At least that is what I hear form other men that have committed a horrible wrong to their spouse like use the guest towel in the guest bathroom. Everyone knows that is only to look at, especially if you are a guest at someone's home. Just dry your hand on you shirt or pants, never touch the fancy towel, just admire how pretty it is.

Was going to grow a bunch of different varieties of peppers but found out they cross pollinate and all end up tasting the same.

Gots to keep with the Ying Yang philosophy of balance when eating hot spicey, ie also eat ice cream for desert. If nothing else it gives you the hope of screaming, "Come on Ice Cream!"

Learned that as a young kid. To this day I like a tall glass of cold milk with a bowl of spicey chili.

Actually, I thought of you when I bought an icecream on the walk back to the hotel. Apple pie flavoured, it was good. Still have a ring of fire though.

Well, I'd better go see if the concierge has bought my car round to the front of the hotel. Hooroo for now.

Why is it that only peppers and hot is something you get to "enjoy" twice? It would be great to enjoy the ice cream and know what flavor you had. Of course steaks and beer should be included. The folks that like kale or Brussel sprouts already get that second taste of them in the morning.

It only burns because you aren't consuming the spicey often enough. Takes 3 weeks of eating spicey to desensitize your butt to the spicey.

Good Hump day folks.

When I was a young puppy I loved hot peppers and hot chili. I ate jalapenos like candy. I never had any suffering. Then I turned 40. When I ate my mom's chili I had to have a bottle of Maalox as a chaser. I finally gave up and use Tabasco or peppers very sparingly now.

^^^ This guy is insane. Curry so hot you start to hallucinate. Yikes.

If you eat enough garlic you get to enjoy it all day, along with everyone around you.

Yea, my cousin got into a phase where he was eating a LOT of garlic and he just reeked of garlic. It got to the point my mom took him aside and said we all love you but if you keep eating so much garlic we will not invite you to to around us anymore, you STINK.

That same cousin started eating carrots for the beta carotene and his skin started to turn orange. Me was often into Macro-biotic diets and for the last 30 years he has been making a good living at selling pond scum. OK he calls it blue-green algae diet supplement. He is a really nice guy, just with some strange ideas on nutrition.

Good Morning group.

Glen, bet what happened is when you got older you ate the hot stuff less often and that's why it started bothering you. I've had it bother me on and off at times depending on how often I get into the hot stuff. The entrance burn is just as much as the exit burn. Sometimes just get hungry for the hot stuff, the less it seems hot eating no matter what scoville says, the less exit burn. Sometimes the only way I can tell it's really hot is the top of my head sweats.

I use garlic powder and ground red pepper to battle colds a flu. Garlic powder acts as an antiseptic that kills the virus and the red pepper is high in vitamin C that raises the acidity making the environment too acidic for the virus to spread. If I feel a cold or flu coming on I start eating garlic powder pills. My go to is a diet heavy in garlic powder, not cloves. The powder has better antiseptic ability in your system than raw garlic. Discovered it when looking for something to battle the symptoms of a particularly bad cold and sore throat and had lost my voice.

What I found was...Chicken broth (not the low sodium kind) with garlic powder, red pepper, and black pepper. Something in the chicken broth helps the white blood cells zero in on where the virus is instead of just being all over your body. The white blood cells being everywhere is what makes you feel achey all over. The old chicken soup thing actually has some validity. Have also gotten my voice back within 10 minutes of sipping on the doctored up chicken broth.

When start feel like eating something do Pop corn with butter, garlic salt, and red pepper and Garlic toast with lots of butter, garlic powder, red pepper and mozzarella, found can take more garlic if add the mozzarella. Getting enough garlic if my sweat/bo starts smelling of garlic.

When I start feeling better the garlic laden stuff starts tasting like it's got way too much garlic and cayenne.

I backed off hot foods when my gut could not handle it. Heartburn was the biggest problem. I fought through many bouts of that and finally threw in the towel, I am a wimp now for hot foods.

I just returned from the dentists office. Right after I moved to OKC in 1978 I started to look for new doctors and dentists. The dentist I picked was a couple of blocks from my garage apartment. He had just started business and only had a few patients. In all those years when I went I always parked at the far corner of his parking lot to avoid door dings. Today driving the borrowed work truck I parked at the front door of the place.

Beside doing the routine teeth cleaning the dentist removed two tonsilloliths from my tonsils. They were small but felt like a growth on my tonsils and were just annoying. Glad they are gone. I get them about once every few years. I knew I had one, I could not see the other one. I always figured it was just a piece of food caught in the folds of my tonsils. I usually could pop them out with my toothbrush. These were stubborn. He got them easily.
