Well more fun than working in an office in “business attire” and in a business office with a short delivery and some boss demanding the TPS reports be finished before you go home.

I do digital models of aircraft in X-Plane all the time but those are pretty simple other than the fuselage. I usually grab an existing fuselage and then change the wings or propulsion to see how they fly. Or take a C-130 and give it rotating nacelles and see how much power and prop radius it takes to make it S/VTOL. It takes a lot.

The DTM model I just finished was 15 GB total. It is essentially what the ground would look like if all structures and vegetation like trees or bushes were removed. It is just the terrain with nothing else.

I was out and about yesterday and at a stop sign waiting for the string of cars to move up one car at a time. I looked over the the side at a strip shopping center. They had a pool business there called Pool Savers. I did a total double take because the L of the sign had been removed. I guess there is not a lot of demand for a poo saver business but what do I know.

All of that sounds more than conference calls and doing tons of data dives to figure out where stuff broke. 🤣

The only nice thing about being this busy is that I have the chance to find some savings for the company in the 7-8 digit range...

Leave for two weeks in Seattle on Monday. Should be a fun trip!

And I bet they give you a big percentage of those savings!

Have fun in Seattle. There is a bad coffee place every 20 or 30 feet. The beer places are almost 100 yards apart! You are an Eagle Scout, you will be able to find one. Remember the good ol days of hanging over the interstate working on a sign in 30 MPH winds. Now that was some kinda fun!

Think am being managed out of a job. Will see.
It is a real thing that has been happening at the "Christian" company.

On the lighter side, had a late lunch.

Put some hickory wood chips in the smoker box and lit the grill. Chopped up some mushrooms, Onion, and garlic. Mix it with burger, pattied it, slipped it on the smokin hot grill. Flipped it and put some mozzarella and cheddar on top to melt. Mayoed up a whole wheat slider bun and served myself up a mushroom slider. And it was good, delicious even.

Not thumping enough good books to keep the job? Document, document, document. Keep track of everything. My office before they were sold had us doing some stupid corp feel good crap that included reading the Bible. I called BS and said nope you can't do that.

Nope it is how the current management is putting in "their" team.
Give your job to someone that does not know what they are doing.
When you comment they say you are disgruntled and fire you.
They claim you are lacking the character quality of flexibility.

Just want to keep employed long enough to afford to retire with my current salary. 3 more years. From where they are headed they will just barely keep the doors open that long,

I shouldn’t have any trouble finding a beer place. Hoping I can find a good coffee place and not that burnt place.

Also I don’t get a percent, but I do get a fair amount of stock, and it’s not doing too poorly.

Friend that worked for Apple is still living off his Apple stock and it's been almost 20 years. He got paid more than he knew what to do with and they had lots of stock options available.

Yea, it is amazing that the secretary that went to work at Microsoft in the early days was a multimillionaire in short order. Lots of the early general staff workers are super rich. Same with the Apple folks. It is also weird to realize Apple was just days away from running out of cash and about to go broke when Bill Gates bought a big chunk of Apple all because Steve Jobs came back. Gates and Steve saved Apple from bankruptcy and now it is one of the top companies on the planet in terms of money it has.

Hey TGIF everyone.

Met a guy from Apple that was actually the first real employee. He was a neighbor kid that hung around and made burger, ice cream, etc. runs on his bike for the Steves working in the garage. When I met him he was in charge of the MacOS.

Mentioned at a meeting this morning that they needed to upgrade my internet connection. Took hours to upload 9GB pst file for a user that left the company. Come to find out my connection is as fast as the company's. Mine is actually faster because I'm the onliest one using it. Oh well, so much for getting faster service.
