Joe, are you allowed to take your phone to work when you go? You can get a lot of video on 2TB.

Yup. We're on private contracts rather than Gvt so much fewer issues with things like that.

They going thru all this stuff to make sure you aren't a pirate? Or are they just testing to see if the pirates are patient enough to get on a boat?

If I were in charge it would be free Javelins and GoPros for all employees! (or equivalent item at the employee's preference). To bad the rules at ports are too screwed up.

Would think if you approach a vessel without specific permission and clearance the vessel should be able to sink you with extreme prejudice. If there are ports that don't like it, stop calling on their ports and see how long it takes for them to change their "rules." Especially since I understand they don't do nearly as well at protecting vessels under their jurisdiction as they think.

In the book "Snow Crash" by Neal Stephenson one of the characters, Raven, rides a motorcycle with a nuclear bomb in the sidecar that will go off if his brain activity stops.

A thermobaric punted over the approaching boat would be better than a nuke. Paint it up like an angry bird and let Joe loose with the oversized slingshot.

I would pay good money to see that actually.

They provide helmet mounted cameras (not gopro, don't remember the brand, they're on a flip mount that activates them when they're flipped down)
The hangup isn't my personal paperwork.

I still think a MK19 would be ideal for the task. The USCG agrees, but only for their boats/personnel

Didn't think it was you. Figured they were trying to go thru whatever they go thru to try to make sure they aren't putting pirates on board.

It will be busy morning for me. Off to the PCA breakfast, then boogie over to a meeting with the Mercedes club about our charity joint car show next week.

Hey fellas, its Saturday.

We are going to the inlaws so I can cut the grass one last time and put a marker on Mack's resting place. It isn't fancy but we all had a part in making it.

Enjoy whatever you do today.

Stijn!!

Got the meetings done and got home to start projects. I tinkered in the garage and then played fence lineman. I removed a 8 foot section of chain link that the neighbors put a stockade fence next to. I did not need two fences. That was fun.
