Yea...F R I D A Y !

An I am "off work" today. Hope it is better than yesterday, I had to do computer nightwatch thing even though had taken a sick day for the eyeball operation. Good thing to, some of the computer jobs failed and had to be restarted. Bunch of other stuff crashed this morning, but NOT ON MY WATCH. I had no idea our PC based network stuff crashed so often. My non-enterprise Macs just worked and rarely if ever had problems. Must be why the Macs are considered not Enterprise computers. They don't take an enterprise of people to keep them running.

February is when I started my gardening work. Trimmed the trees and shrubs before the sap comes back up and tilled and fertilized the garden. Getting everything all prepped for Spring. Really need to put out a gob of fesque seed on all my low light bare spots and then scratch it in with a 4 prong rake. Probably won't happen. With the eye thing supposed to not do anything but sit around so it doesn't raise my blood pressure or increase my heart rate.

What I would really really like to do is re-landscape my yard and put in a sprinkler system. Ah, if only my cars would give me a break on sucking the extra monies out of my expenses.

Whooo Hoooo, the new phone books are here.....

No wait, who uses a phone book anymore? What a total waste of paper. It will go home with me and right into the recycle bin.

A friend of mine has a full size HK in .45ACP. The grips are big for my hand but fit his well. Of course he is 6'6" with hands to match.

Found out last week that the Muay Thai group we train with has had 7 national champs train there throughout the years.

Sunny and 23* today! Woo Hoo.

Been off work all day. But calling them about cell phone deal.

If you call the Verizon business account group they will transfer our company phones to a personal account at the current business rate of $55/mo.
Said it was because the name associated with the phone number has been with them so long.
So can get my personal Verizon phone account bringing in my current phone for $55/mo.
The guys at the Verizon store say that is not possible and the account would be $75/mo.
Talked to a VP that transferred his phone 3 month ago and said they told him the same thing and he got his thru the business transfer for $55/mo.

Now for the screwy part.

Business account will let me pay $200 to get an iPhone 6S with 128Gb memory or $300 for iPhone 7 with 128GB.
Says it will require a two year contract for the $55/mo and the contract will transfer when I transfer the phone to a personal account.
Store says they have a deal were I can pay $77.50/mo for a 6S or 87.50/mo for a 7 with a 2 year contract. Which means I would be paying full retail for the phones.

Tell the person in charge of the cell phones (my boss) and he says he was told not to make any new contracts???
Call around and found the HR Director had made this decision.
Of course, can't get ahold of her at all. Both her company and mobil voice mails are full.

Seems like if they would have done just a little research they could have made this go a lot smoother and offered for people to pay to upgrade their phones before transferring them out. For a company that is supposed to be treating their employees well, this is a really crappy thing to do. And letting people upgrade their phones would NOT have cost the company a penny.

For a company that is always asking employees to find ways to do things more productively and save money...It doesn't make me want to save them one dime when treated like that.

Considering what he is going through with the cell phone crap I can't imagine his heart rate hasn't gone up a bit contrary to doctors orders.

I get to go home, pick up our daughter, drive back into town and kick and hit each other a couple hours, grab a bit to eat and go home with a stop off at moms.

My starter heli was a Blade MCX2

It is a beginner 4 channel coaxial.

It was recommended by my local R/C copter guru and hobby shop owner as a great starter.
It has 2 levels of control settings at the swashplate for how sensitive it is.

took the bandage off the eyeball and the post op checkup today.
It is a lot different than last time.
He put a small air bubble in to help it heal.
Can't lean my head back or sleep on my back.
The bubble puts a line across my vision like my eye is a camera half under and half above water.
Jiggles when I move my head like the liquid would in a glass, looks weird. Like looking through an eye half full of water.
It is clearer below the air bubble, but still pretty blurry.
Said the bubble is not clear.
It is a different kind of blurry that when the blood was in my eye.
Going back in a week to see how it is doing.

There is what he called a clot where blood was pooling at the bottom of my eye.
There is still some there because it got into the layers of my eye.
So still have a blob that comes down when I look up.
Says it will clean itself up.

Said he really dropped the pressure in my eye to see if it would bleed and it didn't so thinks he got all of the bleeders. Used 1000 laser shots.
Called my Primary Physician and doubled my BP meds to keep my BP lower than normal.
And Brent is correct the inconsiderate cell phone fiasco is NOT helping in that area.

Have to put a bandage on to sleep, and sleep on my side.
Have to wear sunglasses during the day, and NO RUBBING.

It itches a little where he put a stitch in it.
Have to put drops in 4 times a day.

It was kinda weird. They put me completely out deadened my eye, then brought me back enough I could see and hear what was going on, but couldn't move or speak. The anesthesiologist told me he was going to do it or I would have been freaked out. Was sure glad there was plenty enough local or it would have been a nightmare. Felt loopy until late that evening, then just took some T3 and slept all night.

It's been 4 almost 5 years since my vision has been 100%.
If this stops the internal hemorrhaging he will do Cadillac surgery on it and should be 100% like my right eye is now. 20/25 as good as it has been since HS.

Vision has slowly been getting worse despite the treatments since I stepped on that nail and got the MRSA infection.
We getting really really depressed about it until they did the cadillac surgery on my right eye and got it to 20/25 like my eyes were since HS.
My left eye has been be getting worser even after they replaced the eye juice the first time.
After he lasered all the bleedy places this time he dropped my eye pressure really low so if there was anything that would pop or bleed it would an nothing leaked. Then he replaced the juice, put some air in to help hold the retina to the back of my eye while healing and some Avastin, the drug that beefs up the blood veins and keeps them from swelling and leaking. I sure hope this got it all.

On my right eye he just monitors the swelling and it's up to 4 months between shots to keep the swelling of the veins and retina from happening.

What happens in retinopathy is the blood veins swell and leak. Where they leak it grows into new veins. Then either the swelling detaches the retina from the optic nerve, or the new veins end up covering and squeezing out all the vision cells. After the avastin treatments stop and reduce the veins to normal he lasers where new veins are forming to both stop the new veins and attach the retina to the back of the eye wth the scar tissue. He lasered 2500 spots in both eyes. The right eye was okay after that. Even though the left eye along with the right had stopped swelling, it has continued to get leaky places.

The USP line are all pretty bulky. When I had a USP, it was really pushing the limits of my ability to manipulate the controls well.

The HK45 has a slimmer grip, with swappable backstraps, but still has the heavy slide and fire control group of the USP line, including the ability to swap detente and change the variant.
It also has the O-ringed barrel that they originally developed for the Mk23. A few quirks/down sides: the sights are tall, but not suppressor height and magazines are only 10rds and $60 each and currently no real options for aftermarket extended.

It wasn't a rusty nail. It were a brand spanking new shiny roofing nail.
And no a tetanus shot or antibiotics would have made no difference.
I did clean it and put a triple antibiotic on it but it didn't even slow it down.
And it was fast too. 3 days and it there was enough dead flesh to take it off with surgery including a toe.

Wasn't quite as fast as the infection my nieces son got in Rolla Mo not long after I got mine.
His started with a scratch on is side. Within the hour it took him to get to the hospital it grew to 8 inches diameter.
He rushed to the hospital because he could see it getting bigger and it was turning black in the middle right before his eyes.
In the time it took them to med flight him to St Louis it was more than twice that size.
Buy the time they got him into surgery which was immediately it was half way around his body and went from his underarm to his knee.
His was mostly just his skin though.
